Music, sport, and solidarity in the heart of the Canavese region
The Needle Festival debuts with its first edition in Barone Canavese, a small town in the Metropolitan City of Turin, in the heart of the Piedmontese Canavese. Scheduled for May 15 and 16, 2026, the festival was created with a dual purpose: to enliven and showcase the local area by creating a space for meeting, sharing, and participation, while simultaneously supporting international cooperation, with a special focus on South Sudan.
The event is organized by the Needle ODV Association, a non-profit organization based in the Canavese area that has been promoting social inclusion, human rights, and sustainable development for years through health, education, and vocational training projects in South Sudan. All proceeds from the festival are donated to support these charitable initiatives.
The Needle Festival brings together two distinct but complementary spirits: on one hand, live music and social gatherings; on the other, in-depth discussions on major international issues and outdoor sports. It is a format designed to engage a wide audience, from families and music lovers to those who enjoy running and walking through the hills.
The evening of Friday, May 15, kicks off with a dinner hosted by the Pro Loco of Barone Canavese, followed by live performances: the opening is entrusted to Ask The Dust, while the headline concert features the Nick Mantovan Band, exploring the many facets of rock and roll history.
Saturday, May 16, alternates between reflection, solidarity, and sport: the morning is dedicated to meetings on international cooperation, followed by a charity lunch, the long-awaited third edition of the Hill Trail Canavese through the hills, and a shared dinner with a final concert.
Located a short distance from Lake Candia and Caluso, Barone Canavese is a village nestled in a hilly landscape of vineyards and woods, the ideal setting for an event that makes community and hospitality its hallmark. The festival represents a new opportunity to discover this corner of the province of Turin and to actively participate in a worthy cause.
The Needle Festival 2026 inaugurated its first edition in Barone Canavese with a weekend full of music, sport, and solidarity. The event, organized by the Needle ODV Association, combined the promotion of the Canavese territory with fundraising for cooperation projects in South Sudan.
The program alternated between live concerts, in-depth talks on international issues, social moments with aperitifs and dinners, and the highly anticipated third edition of the Hill Trail Canavese through the hills.
