About Ragalna Autumn

Every autumn, Ragalna, a small town on the southern slopes of Mount Etna in the province of Catania, hosts the Ragalna Autumn festival. These Etna Markets bring Piazza Cisterna to life every Sunday from late October to early December. Within charming wooden stalls, local farmers and artisans showcase cheeses, ricotta, extra virgin olive oil, mushrooms, wild greens, and wine. With a different themed menu each Sunday, sausage and olive festivals, and children's entertainment, this event is a delicious, family-friendly gathering at the foot of the volcano.

A stroll through the flavors of Etna

The Ragalna Autumn – Etna Markets is a food and wine event that, with the arrival of the colder season, transforms the center of Ragalna into a vibrant market dedicated to local products. In the heart of the town, at Piazza Cisterna, characteristic wooden stalls are set up where local farmers and artisans present the finest goods from the southern slopes of Mount Etna. It is a wonderful opportunity to discover, Sunday after Sunday, the colors, aromas, and flavors of the Sicilian autumn.

What you will find at the stalls

Visitors can taste and purchase genuine mountain products: cheeses and ricotta, extra virgin olive oil, mushrooms, wild greens like caliceddi, honey, wine, preserves, and traditional sweets. Alongside the food and wine, you will find local handicrafts and themed creations, all set within a festive village atmosphere.

  • Market featuring local, zero-mile products
  • Themed lunch menu offered every Sunday
  • Street food and Etna specialties
  • Local crafts and handmade goods
  • Entertainment, games, and workshops for children

The Ragalna Autumn festivals

The calendar includes several highly anticipated special events. The Sausage, Caliceddi, and Wine Festival celebrates one of the most beloved dishes of Etna's peasant cuisine, while the Olive Oil Festival, which closes the event, showcases the region's extra virgin olive oil and local cultivars. Each Sunday is dedicated to a different theme, ensuring every visit offers a new gastronomic discovery.

An event by the Municipality of Ragalna

The event is organized by the Municipality of Ragalna with the support of the Pro Loco and local associations. Ragalna, located within the Etna Park in the province of Catania, Sicily, offers a breathtaking setting at an altitude of nearly 800 meters. On autumn Sundays, between tastings and strolls, you can enjoy views of the volcano and the authentic atmosphere of the Etna villages. Admission to the markets is free.
