Christmas markets, lights and the Melting Christmas market in the heart of the Friulian capital
From late November until Epiphany, the historic centre of Pordenone lights up for Christmas, with a programme that blends markets, music, shows, and lights. The characteristic Christmas chalets animate Piazza XX Settembre and Corso Garibaldi, while the Loggia del Municipio hosts a nativity scene with life-size wooden statues, a symbolic image of the city's Christmas atmosphere.
For families and children, the capital sets up an ice rink and Santa's Village, around which concerts, entertainment, and theatre and music events are held in various locations around the city. A very rich programme, making the Christmas period one of the liveliest times of the year in Pordenone.
Within the festive calendar, Melting Christmas stands out, the market dedicated to quality craftsmanship held in Piazza della Motta. Among the stalls of makers and artisans, there is space for children's workshops and evocative projections on historic buildings, in a curated atmosphere that enhances the territory's know-how and creativity.
Promoted by the Municipality of Pordenone, the city's Christmas focuses on a widespread and accessible offering, capable of animating squares and streets with evening shopping, shows, and light installations. A period that accompanies Pordenone on its journey towards the title of Italian Capital of Culture 2027, enhancing the historic centre as a space for meeting and celebration for residents and visitors.
For Christmas 2026, Pordenone confirms its widespread offering: Christmas chalets in Piazza XX Settembre and Corso Garibaldi, the nativity scene with life-size wooden statues in the Loggia del Municipio, the ice rink, and Santa's Village. The heart of the calendar is the Melting Christmas market, scheduled for December 13th and 14th in Piazza della Motta.
Alongside the quality craft market, children's workshops and projections on historic buildings are planned, as well as concerts and shows throughout the city. Among the events are also Christmas evening shopping in the days leading up to Christmas.
The full calendar of concerts, shows, and initiatives will be published by the Municipality of Pordenone on the dedicated Christmas website in the weeks preceding the holidays.
