A carnival for children and families in the heart of Narzole, in the province of Cuneo
The Narzole Carnival is one of the most cherished winter traditions in the town of Narzole, located in the province of Cuneo, in the heart of Piedmont. Unlike the region's large historical carnivals, the watchword here is simplicity: no massive stage designs or flashy effects, just a celebration like in the old days, filled with children, confetti, masks, and smiles. It is a conscious choice to go against the grain, rediscovering the beauty of Carnival as it was in the beginning.
The Narzole Carnival puts families at the center. It is an opportunity for parents and children to share their imagination and participate spontaneously in a space where the sound of joy drowns out the music. More than a show to watch, it is a celebration to experience together: dress up, throw confetti, march through the streets, and gather at the end for a shared snack.
The heart of the event is the masked parade with floats, which starts from the meeting point in Piazza Giovanni XXIII and reaches Piazza delle Scuole, crossing the center of Narzole. Children and adults in costume bring the streets to life with color and cheer in a festive, small-town atmosphere. At the end of the parade, a final snack is offered to all participants.
The success of the Narzole Carnival stems from a valuable synergy between various local entities: the collaboration between the Municipality and local associations transforms a simple idea into a solid tradition for the community. It is this collective spirit that makes the festival a highly anticipated event, capable of uniting the town's generations.
Narzole is a welcoming town in the Cuneo area, situated in a region rich in history, flavors, and local products, just a stone's throw from the hills of the Langhe and Roero. The town is also known for its historic Napoleonic Fair, but the Carnival represents the most playful and familiar moment of the local calendar—a perfect opportunity to discover the hospitality of this corner of Piedmont.
