For a long weekend in June, Narni — one of the most evocative villages in the province of Terni, in the heart of Umbria — transforms into a widespread stage. Narni Città Teatro is a multidisciplinary festival that brings a packed programme of theatre, dance, music, contemporary circus, and visual arts to its squares, deconsecrated churches, historic buildings, and alleyways, largely with free admission.
A format that blends languages
The festival is known for its fusion of performing and visual arts: alongside theatre performances and concerts, a section dedicated to contemporary art animates unusual spaces such as the Ala Diruta, the Auditorium San Domenico, and the ancient city churches. Each edition revolves around a central theme that runs through all the events, from dawn readings to night performances, from concerts to DJ sets, including meetings and conferences.

Narni Città Teatro — edition 2026
The 2026 edition of Narni Città Teatro takes place from June 14 to 16 and confirms the widespread festival format: over one hundred artists in three days, featuring theatre performances, dance, music, and visual arts animating the squares, churches, and palaces of Narni's historic centre. Among the announced names are Roberto Vecchioni, Vinicio Marchioni and Milena Mancini, choreographer Roberto Zappalà, performer Kate McIntosh, as well as Valter Malosti, Tindaro Granata, Paolo Valerio and Nadia Baldi. The major innovation of this edition is Impresa Fest, promoted by Confapi Terni with the Young Entrepreneurs and ConfapiD Terni, a section exploring the connections between entrepreneurship and culture.

How to get there
Narni can be reached by car from the E45 and the Orte-Terni highway. Narni-Amelia station, on the Rome-Ancona line, is connected to the historic centre by bus; alternatively, Terni station is a few kilometres away.
Admission
