About Night of the Cellars

The Night of the Cellars (Nacht der Keller) is one of South Tyrol's most beloved wine events. On an early summer evening, the wineries along the South Tyrol Wine Road (Südtiroler Weinstraße) open their doors until midnight, offering guided tastings of premium labels, cellar tours, local culinary specialties, and live entertainment. The event rotates annually among different wine-growing municipalities; the 2026 edition features Andriano, Terlano, Nalles, and Bolzano, connected by a dedicated shuttle bus service.

The Night of the Cellars along the South Tyrol Wine Road

The Night of the Cellars (known in German as Nacht der Keller) is one of the most iconic wine events in South Tyrol. Once a year, on an early summer evening, wineries and estates along the South Tyrol Wine Road (Südtiroler Weinstraße) open their doors to the public until midnight, turning the wine villages into a single, grand stage dedicated to wine and conviviality.

An event that rotates through wine-growing municipalities

The unique feature of this event is that it changes its setting every year, moving between the various wine-growing municipalities that line the route connecting Nalles to Salorno, covering approximately 150 kilometers of landscape blanketed by over 4,400 hectares of vineyards. In 2026, the spotlight shines on the northern part of the route, with the wineries of Andriano, Terlano, Nalles, and Bolzano hosting the evening.

What to expect

Visitors can discover the world of South Tyrolean wine exactly where it is born. Throughout the evening, the wineries offer:

  • tastings of their most representative labels, guided by the producers themselves;
  • tours of winemaking facilities, barrel rooms, and distilleries;
  • local culinary specialties paired with wines;
  • music and entertainment, with activities organized independently by each venue.

It is the perfect opportunity to get an up-close look at the work of South Tyrolean winemakers and cellar masters in a relaxed, festive atmosphere that carries guests from sunset until late at night.

Andriano and the surrounding area

The small municipality of Andriano (Andrian in German), in the autonomous province of Bolzano, in Trentino-Alto Adige, is one of the smallest in the region but boasts a long winemaking tradition: its cooperative winery, Cantina Andriano, is among the oldest in South Tyrol. The village is located just a few kilometers from Terlano and Bolzano, in an area famous for its long-lived white wines, such as Terlano.

Getting around

To move comfortably between the different wineries without worrying about driving, the organizers provide a shuttle bus service connecting the participating locations. It is the most practical and safe way to enjoy the entire evening while hopping from one cellar to the next.
