In the heart of the Tuscan summer, Vicopisano becomes one of the stages for the Musicastrada Festival, the widespread and traveling festival that has been crossing the villages of the province of Pisa for over twenty years. Promoted by the Musicastrada Association and directed by Davide Mancini, it is considered a unique boutique festival in Italy: music is not consumed in a large, anonymous space, but becomes a shared experience in places of extraordinary beauty, with limited capacity, at sunset or at night, in an intimate atmosphere where the distance between those performing and those listening disappears.

The Vicopisano stop takes place in the historic center of Vicopisano, a small municipality in the Province of Pisa famous for its extraordinary medieval heritage. The village is dominated by the Rocca del Brunelleschi and its towers, witnesses to the town's ancient strategic role on the banks of the Serchio and Arno rivers. The concert is held in the cozy space of the Palazzo Pretorio, where the ancient stones and the natural acoustics of the site amplify that idea of close-up listening that is the festival's trademark. The 2026 edition: Marta Del Grandi

For the 27th edition of the festival, scheduled from July 10th to August 2nd, 2026, Vicopisano hosts the concert of Marta Del Grandi on Thursday, July 17th. A singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, she is among the most original and sought-after voices on the new Italian singer-songwriter scene, appreciated for a musical language that weaves together experimentation, jazz, and song. An event that brings to the village an artist capable of transforming the concert into an immersive experience, perfectly in tune with the intimate spirit of Musicastrada.

A festival that also looks to social issues

Musicastrada is not just music and landscape. The 2026 edition relaunches the "suspended ticket" project, carried out in collaboration with the Arnera Social Cooperative of Pontedera: those who wish can purchase an extra ticket for someone experiencing financial hardship, ensuring that culture is increasingly accessible. The festival also promotes local craft breweries, thanks to the collaboration with CNA Pisa, and enjoys the support of the Tuscany Region, the Fondazione Pisa, and the Chamber of Commerce of Tuscany North-West. At each stop, music is accompanied by walks, local products, and the discovery of the villages, in a formula that makes Musicastrada a complete territorial experience.
