The summer music festival in Pulsano, between the cloister and the sea
This edition has not been confirmed by the organiser to date. We recommend checking before going.
Musica a Riva is the summer music festival that brings life to Pulsano, a town on the Ionian coast in the province of Taranto, in the heart of Puglia. Launched in 2025, the event offers a series of ten concerts that accompany the audience from July through early September, spanning various genres: classical music, jazz, world music, soul, and Italian singer-songwriter classics.
The charm of the festival lies in its venues. The concerts are split between the intimate Cloister of the Convento dei Padri Riformati, in the historic center, where the acoustics and cozy atmosphere enhance chamber music and more delicate repertoires, and the Spiaggia dell'Aeronautica – Lido Persefone, in the Marina di Pulsano, where the notes mingle with the sound of the Ionian Sea waves. This alternation between the village and the shore gives the event its name and makes it an experience that unites listening, landscape, and territory.
Musica a Riva is promoted by the Gruppo Culturale Letterario, chaired by Gian Carlo Lisi, and the Associazione La 'Ngnena, coordinated by Maria Guglielmetti, with the patronage of the Municipality of Pulsano and the Puglia Region. The artistic direction is entrusted to Maestro Domenico Susca, a guitarist who created the project and also performs on stage during one of the events. The festival provides a platform for young local talent and conservatory students alongside established musicians, with an international vocation that has brought artists from several countries to Pulsano.
Pulsano, overlooking the Gulf of Taranto and known for its coves and coastal tower, offers the ideal setting on summer evenings for a festival that has become a highly anticipated fixture of local cultural life.
