The Romagna motorcycle rally among hills, tagliatelle al ragù, and live music in Predappio
Mototagliatella is one of Romagna's most beloved motorcycle events. It takes place in Predappio, a municipality in the Province of Forlì-Cesena known for its hills and Sangiovese wines, in the heart of Emilia-Romagna. For three days, the central Piazza Garibaldi and the festival grounds transform into a large meeting point for bikers and families, amidst the roar of motorcycles, delicious food, and plenty of music.
The rally was born in 1995 from the idea of a group of biker friends led by Giorgio Biserni, known to everyone as "Gatto". The first edition, organized by word of mouth, gathered just eighty people for a ride through the hills that concluded with a plate of homemade tagliatelle. From that convivial lunch, an event has grown that today welcomes thousands of enthusiasts from all over Italy, remaining true to its original spirit of friendship and conviviality.
The dish that gives the event its name is the absolute protagonist: every year, volunteers hand-prepare tagliatelle with over three quintals of ragù, served alongside the indispensable piadina romagnola and glasses of Sangiovese. The food stands also offer spit-roasted chicken, hamburgers, and traditional snacks to accompany every moment of the day.
The pulsating heart of Mototagliatella is the Sunday motorcycle tour: a scenic route that winds through the panoramic roads between Predappio, Premilcuore, Rocca delle Caminate, Meldola, and the Forlì hills. Open to motorcycles of all engine sizes, the tour uses roads normally open to traffic and combines the passion for two wheels with the discovery of the Romagna Apennine landscape.
The evenings are enlivened by live concerts, DJ sets, entertainment, games, and prize draws. Cover bands, tribute bands dedicated to Italian music legends, and musical selections alternate on the festival stage until late at night, in a popular festive atmosphere suitable for all ages.
Mototagliatella maintains its accessible and family-friendly character: admission is free for all days, and those arriving from afar can take advantage of free camping with services at the festival grounds, as well as a list of accommodation options in the Predappio area.
The 31st edition of Mototagliatella confirmed the success of the historic Romagna motorcycle rally, enlivening Predappio for three days with the roar of motorcycles, good food, and live music. Thousands of bikers from all over Italy gathered in Piazza Garibaldi to enjoy handmade tagliatelle al ragù, piadina, and Sangiovese, amidst concerts, DJ sets, entertainment, and awards. The highlight of the event was the Sunday motorcycle tour through the Forlì hills. Free admission and free camping for all days.
Predappio can be reached by car from the Via Emilia, exiting at Forlì (A14 motorway) and continuing along the SP3 towards the hills; it is about 15 km from Forlì. The nearest train station is Forlì, connected by bus to the center of Predappio.
The meeting point is in Piazza Garibaldi and the Area Feste (Festival Grounds) of Predappio (FC).
Free admission on all days. Free camping with services at the festival grounds for overnight stays; a list of accommodation options in the surrounding area is available.
