The Grado summer concert series
As the days get longer and the Sun Island fills with holidaymakers, Grado ignites its summer with Grado Summer Surprises, the series of concerts and shows that provides the soundtrack to the warmest months. It's the time when the lagoon town in the province of Gorizia, already famous for its beaches and its historic centre made of narrow streets and small squares, transforms into an open-air stage overlooking the sea.
The series mixes genres and styles: from Italian pop to electronic dance, from international music to comedy. The events are mainly held at the Parco delle Rose, the green space a stone's throw from the seafront that has been the heart of Grado's events for decades. The formula focuses on big names capable of attracting not only tourists but also audiences from all over Friuli Venezia Giulia.
Experiencing Grado Summer Surprises means combining music with the pleasure of a summer evening on the Adriatic. Before or after the concert, you can stroll through the narrow streets of the historic centre, stop at one of the trattorias serving lagoon fish, or enjoy an aperitif overlooking the mandracchio harbour. This is Grado's winning formula: culture, music, and seaside atmosphere in a single evening.
The concert series is part of a very rich summer calendar, promoted by the Municipality of Grado together with the Friuli Venezia Giulia Region, which ranges from religious traditions like the Perdòn di Barbana to pyromusical shows for Ferragosto. Grado Summer Surprises represents its most contemporary and popular soul, capable of renewing the bond between the island and great music every year.
The 2026 programme of Grado Summer Surprises offers four highly anticipated evenings, presented alongside the rich summer programme of Grado, which runs from May to October. The series confirms Grado's vocation for combining quality music with a seaside atmosphere.
The 2026 Grado summer also continues with other major events: Grado Green Live (August 19-20) with Benji e Fede, free entry, the Ferragosto pyromusical show (August 15), and numerous events spread across the island.
Grado is reachable by car from the A4 (Palmanova or Latisana exit) and the SS352. The nearest train station is Cervignano-Aquileia-Grado, connected by bus.
Concerts may be free or ticketed depending on the artist; information is published on the official channels of the Municipality and the event series.
Grado has numerous accommodation facilities, from hotels on the seafront to campsites. Advance booking is recommended during high season.
