Street food in the greenery of Parco di Villa Baldini, in Monteverde
Monteverde Street Food is the ultimate street food event that brings one of the greenest corners of the Monteverde district in Rome to life. The setting is Largo Alessandrina Ravizza, located within Parco di Villa Baldini, just behind the Janiculum Hill. For a few days, the park transforms into a true open-air gastronomic village, where you can sit among the trees and sample specialties from all over Italy and the world.
The heart of the event features over twenty street chefs, with food trucks and kitchen stands serving up the best of traditional recipes and the latest street food trends. From Italian regional specialties—Abruzzese arrosticini, Pugliese bombette, Ascoli-style olives, Sicilian arancini, and gourmet slow-cooked meat sandwiches—to international cuisines, including Mexican tacos, Venezuelan arepas, Greek pita, Indian curry, Spanish paella, Argentine empanadas, and American barbecue. There are also plenty of gluten-free, vegetarian, and vegan options, as well as traditional desserts and crepes.
The dishes are paired with a curated selection of drinks: unfiltered raw beer produced by one of the oldest Bavarian breweries, Landshuter Brauhaus, and the Drink Lab, an area dedicated to signature mixology with cocktails and spritzes. Scenography, lighting effects, live music, and large areas with tables and seating make for a convivial atmosphere until late at night, turning the space into what the organizers describe as the district's largest restaurant under the stars.
The event is organized by TTS Food, a Mela Eventi format, and is held under the patronage of Rome's Municipio XII. It is part of a traveling tour that visits the same Monteverde space several times a year, having become a staple for local residents and those looking for an evening of flavor and relaxation in the Lazio region. A commitment to sustainability is demonstrated by the use of recyclable brick cartons for water to reduce plastic consumption.
Free admission, urban greenery, quality cuisine, and a festive atmosphere: Monteverde Street Food is the perfect excuse for a gastronomic stroll with family or friends, just a stone's throw from the center of Rome but far from the crowds of the tourist circuits.
