Two weekends of music, DJ sets, and street food at Parco dell'Ambrogiana
Montelupo Fool Park is the summer festival that transforms the Parco dell'Ambrogiana, with the stunning Medici Villa as its backdrop, into a vibrant celebration in the heart of Montelupo Fiorentino, in the province of Florence. For two weekends in July, the public park along the Arno River becomes a large open-air stage dedicated to music, social connection, and youth creativity, with completely free admission.
The event was born in 2018 on the initiative of local Youth Center members and has since built a strong following, especially among younger generations. The name itselfโ"Fool Park," playing on the idea of being "inside the park, outside the box"โreflects the free-spirited and participatory nature of the event, built year after year by the community and local associations.
The format is multidisciplinary and designed to fill summer evenings until late at night. Recurring features of Fool Park include:
Fool Park is part of a broader project to enhance the Parco dell'Ambrogiana, promoted by the Municipality of Montelupo Fiorentino in collaboration with organizations like COeSO Empoli and Sociolab, with support from European, Italian, and Tuscan regional funds. The goal is to return a safe and dynamic meeting space to citizens, especially young people. To manage the 2026, 2027, and 2028 editions, the Municipality has issued a three-year concession tender, signaling its commitment to making the festival a permanent fixture of the Montelupo summer.
Experiencing Fool Park is also a great opportunity to discover Montelupo Fiorentino, a Tuscan town world-renowned for its ceramic tradition and the Ceramics Museum. The setting of the Medici Villa dell'Ambrogiana and its proximity to Florence and the Empoli area make the festival a perfect excuse to explore a region rich in art, history, and fine dining.
Montelupo Fool Park 2026 takes place over two weekends in July, from July 10 to 12 and from July 17 to 19, 2026, for a total of six free-admission evenings at Parco dell'Ambrogiana. Once again, the park transforms into a vibrant celebration space with live music, DJ sets, artistic performances, workshops, and street food, all set against the backdrop of the Medici Villa.
The 2026 edition is part of the new three-year concession tender (2026-2028) through which the Municipality of Montelupo Fiorentino has entrusted the organization of the event. The calendar of artists and activities, as per the festival's tradition, will be communicated through the official channels of the Municipality and Montelupo Fool Park in the weeks preceding the event.
The detailed program for the 2026 edition, including the artists and schedules for the six evenings, will be announced by the organization in the weeks leading up to the event.
Based on past editions, the festival is organized across two stages and thematic areas:
