Monte San Savino Show

A bridge between History and Fantasy in the heart of Tuscany

The Monte San Savino Show is an international exhibition and competition for historical and fantasy figurines held every November in the medieval village of Monte San Savino, in the province of Arezzo, in the heart of Tuscany. The event is considered one of the most important in the European modeling and artistic miniature scene, attracting sculptors, painters, and modelers from all over Italy and abroad every year.

Competition Entries

The event's core theme is the dialogue between history and imagination, summarized by the motto "a bridge between History and Fantasy." In the exhibition halls, you can admire:

• Historical figurines: soldiers and characters painted with extraordinary detail, ranging from ancient times to the wars of the 20th century;
• Fantasy miniatures: creatures, heroes, and scenes inspired by fantasy and role-playing game imagery;
• Dioramas: complete scenes featuring military vehicles, settings, and characters;
• Sci-fi modeling: reproductions of cult films, iconic characters, and science fiction vehicles.

The works are evaluated by a jury of experts who award prizes and recognition across various categories, making the event a truly high-level competitive gathering.

The Venue and Atmosphere

The heart of the event is the Museo del Cassero in Piazza Gamurrini, but the entire historic center of Monte San Savino participates with stands, stalls, and side events. The village, with its Renaissance palaces and cobblestone streets, offers a picturesque setting that blends the art of the miniature with the architectural heritage of the Valdichiana area.

Organization and Tradition

The event is organized by the G.A.St.Art. - Gruppo Approfondimento Storico e Artistico of Arezzo, under the artistic direction of Luca Baldino and with the patronage of the Municipality of Monte San Savino. Established in 2008 and growing with every edition, the show has become an international benchmark for figurine and modeling enthusiasts, successfully combining collecting passion with artistic exchange and the promotion of a Tuscan village.

In addition to the exhibition of competition entries, the Monte San Savino Show offers painting and sculpting demonstrations, meetings with masters of the field, and sessions dedicated to discovering modeling techniques. Admission is free, and the event is suitable for professionals, families, and curious visitors alike, making for a weekend that combines culture, creativity, and Tuscan food and wine traditions.
