The Montaione Wine Festival is a new food and wine event debuting in the summer of 2026, placing wine at the heart of village life. The inaugural edition will bring the entire historic center of Montaione, in the Metropolitan City of Florence, to life from July 10th to 12th, 2026. It is a flagship event of the Estate Montaionese, the summer festival program that runs from June to September, featuring concerts, culinary events, markets, music festivals, nature hikes, and guided tours.

One of Italy's most beautiful villages

Montaione sits on a hill in the Valdelsa region of Tuscany, halfway between Florence, Siena, and the coast, and is officially recognized as one of the Borghi più belli d'Italia (Most Beautiful Villages in Italy). Its medieval historic center, with cobblestone streets, intimate squares, and views of the surrounding hills, provides the perfect backdrop for a wine festival. During the festival evenings, the village streets become a path of taste and social connection, where you can discover the region through its wines and traditional Tuscan hospitality.

The festival celebrates the wine culture of the Florentine Valdelsa, an area that has established itself in recent years as a high-quality production region with an original, modern style. The Montaione Wine Festival is part of a particularly vibrant summer for the Municipality of Montaione. In addition to the wine festival, the summer calendar offers musical afternoons of Classica in San Vivaldo, local product markets, events such as Ciccia, Vino e Musica (Meat, Wine, and Music), and various excursions and guided tours, including those to the evocative Jerusalem of San Vivaldo. It is a widespread program that involves both the main town and the surrounding hamlets.

Like all initiatives promoted by the Montaione municipal administration as part of the Estate Montaionese, the Montaione Wine Festival offers free admission.
