The traveling festival blending live music with the food and wine excellence of Monferrato, stopping in Cocconato
Monferrato on Stage is the traveling festival that for over ten years has combined live music with the food and wine excellence of the Monferrato region, spanning the provinces of Turin, Asti, and Alessandria. Conceived and managed by the Fondazione MOS ETS, established in 2016 by president Cristiano Massaia, the event brings concerts, performances, and art installations to the most picturesque squares and villages of the Monferrato hills, a UNESCO World Heritage site.
The Cocconato stop, a small town in the province of Asti nicknamed the "Riviera of Monferrato" for its mild climate, is one of the most beloved dates of the festival. The evening takes place in the scenic Cortile del Collegio, an ideal setting for concerts, while the historic town center comes alive with the food and wine area.
The Monferrato on Stage format goes beyond just concerts: every evening is a complete experience that weaves together entertainment, visual art, and food and wine culture. In Cocconato, live music is accompanied by projections and photography exhibitions, in a dialogue between different artistic languages that defines the festival's identity.
The food and wine area, set up in the hours leading up to the concert, offers great Monferrato wines and traditional Piedmontese specialties, involving local wineries, distilleries, and restaurateurs. It is the perfect opportunity to discover the flavors of the Asti hills before immersing yourself in the evening of music.
Supported by the Piedmont Region, local authorities, and numerous public and private partners, Monferrato on Stage is much more than a music festival: it is a regional development project that connects towns, associations, and producers to promote Monferrato as a tourist and cultural destination.
For the town of Cocconato and the entire Asti Monferrato area, this stop is a festive moment that attracts music lovers, wine tourists, and visitors from all over Piedmont.
Cocconato is located in the province of Asti, in the Monferrato hills. By car, it can be reached via the A21 motorway (Asti exit) or the SS458 road from Chivasso/Turin. The nearest train station is in Cocconato on the Chivasso-Asti line.
Monferrato on Stage concerts in Cocconato are free of charge. The food and wine area offers wines and specialties for purchase. We recommend arriving early to secure a spot.
The full program and updates are available on the official Fondazione MOS ETS website and the festival's social media channels.
