The motorcycle and scooter rally in the hills of Monale, Asti
The Monale Motorcycle Rally is one of the most beloved motorcycling events in the Asti hills. Every spring, the village of Monale, in the Province of Asti, in the heart of the Piedmontese Monferrato, transforms for two days into a meeting point for bikers and engine enthusiasts, who peacefully invade Piazza Vittorio Emanuele II with motorcycles, scooters, mopeds, quads, and vintage vehicles.
The rally is open to all types of two- and three-wheeled vehicles โ motorcycles of all engine sizes, mopeds, scooters, quads, and vintage bikes โ while cars are not permitted. Participation is free and requires no mandatory registration: simply show up in the square to join the convoy. It is this simple and welcoming formula, combined with the atmosphere of a village festival, that has made the event a classic in the Asti spring calendar.
The main day kicks off early in the morning with the gathering in the square, greeted by the traditional "exhaust pipe wake-up call." After the vehicles assemble, the parade through the town streets begins, followed by a scenic ride through the Asti hills, a route that winds through the wine-growing landscapes of the Monferrato. In past editions, the start of the ride has been made spectacular by a parachute jump. Upon returning, the Pro Loco and local businesses welcome participants with local gastronomic specialties.
The rally is about more than just engines: the evening before features live music, DJ sets, and street food under the marquee, while the day of the event is punctuated by rock band concerts and fun moments like the historic slow race and "exhaust pipe" challenges. A mix of engines, good food, and fun that makes Monale, in Piedmont, an unmissable stop for two-wheel lovers.
