Three evenings of flavor, music, and tradition at Parco Busiello in Marigliano
The Eggplant Festival is the summer celebration of the Miuli district, on the outskirts of Marigliano, a municipality in the Metropolitan City of Naples, Campania. It is organized by the CRC – Miuli Cultural Recreational Club, an association of local volunteers who, every year towards the end of June, transform Parco Busiello on Via Vignariello into a large open-air kitchen. After a five-year hiatus, the event returned in 2025, and in 2026 it reached its seventeenth edition, confirming itself as one of the most anticipated events of the Marigliano summer.
The common thread of the festival is a vegetable that in Campania is much more than a simple ingredient: the eggplant is the base of parmigiana, one of the iconic dishes of Neapolitan cuisine, and here it is prepared in dozens of different ways. The food stalls offer in particular:
Everything is prepared on the spot by the club's volunteers and served at popular prices: this authenticity, even more than the quantity, is the hallmark of the Miuli festival.
Next to the stoves, there is a stage that is never empty. Each evening has its own concert: ranging from Latin sounds and classic saxophone melodies to percussion and African rhythms, up to the pop music bands that close the event. Over the years, the festival has also hosted groups linked to Campanian folk traditions, such as tammorra players, and collaborations with local radio stations broadcasting live from the park.
The Eggplant Festival is not just for those who come to eat. An area dedicated to children is set up in the park, with inflatables, games, and activities led by entertainers, so that families can stay for the entire evening. Free admission and the neighborhood festival format make it an intergenerational event, frequented by both locals from Marigliano and visitors from neighboring towns.
Marigliano is located on the plain northeast of Mount Vesuvius, in the Nola area, a historically agricultural zone where horticulture has always played an important role in the local economy. Dedicating a festival to the eggplant therefore means telling a piece of the territory's identity: the relationship between the Campanian countryside, its products, and a home-style cooking that has made the region famous worldwide. The Miuli district, which gives the event its name, is one of the peripheral areas of the municipality, and the festival was born precisely as a moment of aggregation for its community.
Access to Parco Busiello is free for all evenings and no reservation is required: you only pay for what you consume at the food stalls. The proceeds support the activities of the Miuli Cultural Recreational Club, which coordinates dozens of volunteers across cooking, service, setup, and hospitality. Those who arrive early find it easier to get a seat at the tables and can stroll calmly among the stalls before the concerts begin.
From June 26 to 28, 2026, Parco Busiello on Via Vignariello, in the Miuli district of Marigliano, hosted the seventeenth edition of the Eggplant Festival, organized by the CRC – Miuli Cultural Recreational Club. Three consecutive evenings, all with free admission and no reservation required.
At the heart of the event, as per tradition, was Neapolitan cuisine built around the eggplant: classic parmigiana and white parmigiana, stuffed rolls, baked pasta and lasagna, eggplant 'a funghetto', savory pies, fried sandwiches, sausage sandwiches, 'o cuzzetiello with meatballs, a dessert corner, and drinks. The dishes were prepared on the spot by the club's volunteers and served at popular prices.
Every evening, a different concert enlivened the park, with a program ranging from Latin sounds to Afro percussion and pop music. There was also an area dedicated to children, which made the event suitable for families for the entire duration of the festival.
Opening of the food stalls and inaugural evening with the duo José and Jenny Sax, featuring Latin sounds and classic melodies.
Live show by Tribalafro, with African rhythms, percussion, and ethnic sounds. During the evening, Radio Punto Zero broadcast from the park with the RPZ Live program.
Grand finale entrusted to Blue'Square.
For all three evenings: eggplant-based food stalls, dessert corner, drinks, and activities for children. Free admission.

By car, Marigliano can be reached from the main road axes of the Nola area, east of Naples; the Miuli district is located on the outskirts of the town. By train, the municipality is served by the Circumvesuviana network, with connections from Naples towards Nola and Baiano; from the station, you can continue by bus or taxi.
Admission is free and open for all evenings, without reservation. The food stalls open in the evening and remain active until late at night: precise times and the menu with prices are published year by year on the festival's Facebook page.
It is advisable to arrive early to find a seat at the tables and park without difficulty in the streets around the park. The event takes place outdoors: in case of bad weather, it is useful to check for updates on the organizers' social media channels. Those traveling with children will find a play area set up inside the park.
