A festival dedicated to an inimitable dish

In the heart of the Ferrara plain, in Mirabello, a hamlet of the Municipality of Terre del Reno (province of Ferrara, Emilia-Romagna), September brings an event that is now part of the village's identity: the Mirabellese Cutlet Festival. For three consecutive weekends, the sports field on Via Belvedere fills with tables, aromas, and chatter, centered around an absolute protagonist: the cutlet, prepared according to a recipe they consider simply inimitable.

The 'zdore' recipe

The secret of the Mirabellese Cutlet lies in its tenderness and flavor, the result of an ancient formula passed down through time and guarded by the village women, the zdore. It's not just any cutlet: it's the product of domestic wisdom that has become collective heritage, which the Pro Loco of Mirabello brings to your table thanks to the tireless work of its volunteers. Alongside the classic version, a refined truffle variation has also become popular over the years, winning over the most curious palates.

More than a festival: a community celebration

The event is promoted by the Pro Loco of Mirabello with the patronage of the Municipality of Terre del Reno and represents much more than a gastronomic moment. It's an opportunity to showcase local products, strengthen community spirit, and gather around the table in the conviviality that is the true heart of Emilia's festivals. The menu ranges from appetizers, such as pumpkin flans and rustic crostini, to fresh egg pasta with ragù or truffle, naturally including the cutlet in all its variations, and traditional desserts.

How it works

Dinner is served under the covered stand at the sports field on Friday and Saturday evenings, while Sunday is dedicated to lunch. Reservations are mandatory and must be made exclusively by phone. Takeaway service is also available, also by reservation and at set times, for those who want to take a taste of this Mirabello tradition home.
