Four nights of seafood, street food, music, and entertainment at the Arena di Capo Peloro
This edition has not been confirmed by the organiser to date. We recommend checking before going.
Messina Street Fish is the major summer festival dedicated to seafood and street food held at the Arena di Capo Peloro, in the village of Torre Faro, at the northeastern tip of the Municipality of Messina. Organized by Eventivamente in collaboration with the Municipality of Messina and the Department of Entertainment and Major Events, the festival was launched in 2023 as a "seaside" spin-off of the well-known Messina Street Food Fest, quickly securing a permanent spot in the city's culinary event calendar.
The heart of the event lies in the food stalls—around thirty in recent editions—spread along the Arena di Capo Peloro, just steps from the Blue Flag beach. The menu ranges from fried fish to grilled seafood, featuring Sicilian street food and new arrivals from neighboring Calabria, with special attention given to sweet treats and gluten-free dishes for celiacs. Purchases are made using tokens, available for sale at authorized city locations in the days leading up to the opening.
Beyond the food, Messina Street Fish focuses on entertainment. Every evening, the Arena stage hosts live concerts by local bands and long DJ sets that keep the energy high until 1:00 AM, while stilt walkers, jugglers, and street artists from the Compagnia dei Joculares roam among the stalls. The result is a relaxed, festive atmosphere perfect for dining, dancing, and strolling along the Strait.
In recent years, the festival has introduced tokens made from recycled ocean plastic, specifically from abandoned fishing nets—a symbolic gesture to honor the nature of Capo Peloro and the Ganzirri lakes. The location is unique: Capo Peloro is the point where the Tyrrhenian Sea meets the Ionian, facing Calabria, in one of the most evocative areas of the Province of Messina and all of Sicily.
The Arena di Capo Peloro is located in Torre Faro, north of Messina's city center. The most convenient way to reach it is via ATM public transport (specifically the line connecting the city to Torre Faro), while those arriving by car can use the Torre Morandi parking area, given the limited parking availability near the village.
At the moment, the organizers have not yet published the official dates and program for the 2026 edition of Messina Street Fish. Following the tradition of previous years, the event is expected to return in late June at the Arena di Capo Peloro, in Torre Faro, with the usual food stalls dedicated to seafood and street food from Sicily and Calabria, accompanied by live concerts, DJ sets, and street art. Information will be updated as soon as Eventivamente and the Municipality of Messina release the official calendar.
