Palermo's grand exhibition fair, a showcase for Sicilian commerce and entertainment since 1946
The Mediterranean Trade Fair is one of the longest-running and most beloved exhibition events in the Sicilian capital. Established in 1946 as a showcase for commerce and production in Southern Italy, it has woven itself into the history of Palermo, becoming a landmark event for local residents and business operators across Sicily. To this day, it retains that dual identity as both a trade show and a grand popular festival that has secured its enduring success.
The event is held at the Fiera del Mediterraneo Exhibition Center, located at Via Anwar Sadat 13, in the Fiera district of Palermo, within the metropolitan city of Sicily. The exhibition area spans over 70,000 square meters, including both indoor pavilions and outdoor spaces, capable of hosting hundreds of stands and thousands of visitors every day.
The fair is a journey through the latest commercial trends. Key sectors include:
Beyond the exhibition area, the fair offers a rich calendar of free events. Every evening, stages set up in various areas host live music, while afternoon radio broadcasts, evening concerts, dance competitions, and the large amusement park make the visit an experience for the whole family. There is also no shortage of cabaret, workshops, and spaces dedicated to art.
With its mix of commerce, gastronomy, and entertainment, the Mediterranean Trade Fair remains one of the most popular events of the Palermitan spring, attracting families, young people, and visitors from across the province and beyond.
The 71st Mediterranean Trade Fair was held from May 23 to June 7, 2026, at the Via Anwar Sadat exhibition center in Palermo. The inauguration, on Saturday, May 23 at 7:00 PM, also included a moment of remembrance on the anniversary of the Capaci massacre.
Numerous exhibitors from all over Europe enlivened the approximately 70,000 square meters of the fair, presenting commercial innovations in the automotive, nautical, home and garden decor, shopping, food, and arts and crafts sectors. Entertainment highlights included a tribute to Toto Cutugno (May 25), the "I 40 che ballano 90" party (May 30), and a concert by Aleandro Baldi (June 5), in addition to live music every night from 9:30 PM, afternoon radio broadcasts, dance competitions, the ArteMed area, and an expanded amusement park.
The Exhibition Center is located at Via Anwar Sadat 13 in Palermo, accessible by car (with ample parking nearby) and public transport. Direct bus lines to the Fiera area are available from the central station and the city center.
