August nights in Marginone featuring live music, the Beer Festival, and the Sagra del Cencio
The Marginone Live Fest is the most anticipated summer event in Marginone, a small village in the municipality of Altopascio, in the province of Lucca, in the heart of the central Tuscan plains. Organized by the Comitato Festeggiamenti Marginone, the festival brings together the village's historic events into one grand program, running for nearly the entire month of August on Via Generale La Marmora.
Established in 2012, the Live Fest has grown over the years to become a landmark for the Lucca plain: the formula blends the conviviality of a village fair, with its long tables and traditional dishes, with the energy of concerts and dance nights. All this with free admission, a restaurant open every night, and a dance floor that is always active.
The festival is divided into two main parts that follow one another over the weeks:
The program alternates between major dance and revival nights and concerts by orchestras and Italian pop performers, with a special focus on ballroom dancing, a true tradition of these festivals. Beside the stage, the beating heart remains the kitchen: the restaurant offers festival dishes every evening, while the beer and street food area accompanies the more high-energy nights.
The Marginone Live Fest is the perfect opportunity to experience a Tuscan August away from the most crowded tourist spots: an authentic celebration, designed for the locals but open to everyone, where residents and visitors come together over music, good food, and a desire to socialize. Marginone is easily accessible from Altopascio, Lucca, Pescia, and the Valdinievole, making it an ideal stop for those who want to discover the popular traditions of the province of Lucca.
The 14th edition of the Marginone Live Fest, titled "Frequenze", takes place from August 7 to 21, 2026, with thirteen nights of free-admission festivities. The program combines the dance-focused phase of the Beer Festival with the live music and ballroom dancing evenings of the Sagra del Cencio, in the village of Marginone (Altopascio, province of Lucca).
The restaurant remains open every evening, along with the dedicated dance area, featuring a program that ranges from DJ sets to concerts by Italian pop performers.
All evenings start in the evening; restaurant and dance floor open every night. The program is subject to change: for updates, please refer to the official website and the festival's social media channels.
The festival takes place at Via Generale La Marmora 14, in the village of Marginone, Municipality of Altopascio (LU), Tuscany.
