A village festival that lasts almost all of August

The Marginone Live Fest is the most anticipated summer event in Marginone, a small village in the municipality of Altopascio, in the province of Lucca, in the heart of the central Tuscan plains. Organized by the Comitato Festeggiamenti Marginone, the festival brings together the village's historic events into one grand program, running for nearly the entire month of August on Via Generale La Marmora.

Established in 2012, the Live Fest has grown over the years to become a landmark for the Lucca plain: the formula blends the conviviality of a village fair, with its long tables and traditional dishes, with the energy of concerts and dance nights. All this with free admission, a restaurant open every night, and a dance floor that is always active.

Two souls: Beer Festival and Sagra del Cencio

The festival is divided into two main parts that follow one another over the weeks:

• Beer Festival — the first few nights are dedicated to beer (Italian and imported, including gluten-free options), street food, cocktails, and a more youthful, dance-oriented musical program, featuring DJ sets, 90s and 2000s revivals, and themed nights.
• Sagra del Cencio — the second part revives the village's oldest gastronomic tradition, featuring local cuisine, baked specialties, and evenings of live music and ballroom dancing, with orchestras and singers keeping the dance floor lively until late at night.

Music, dance, and dining under the stars

The program alternates between major dance and revival nights and concerts by orchestras and Italian pop performers, with a special focus on ballroom dancing, a true tradition of these festivals. Beside the stage, the beating heart remains the kitchen: the restaurant offers festival dishes every evening, while the beer and street food area accompanies the more high-energy nights.
