About Peach Festival

Every year, on the last weekend of July, the small village of Maglione in the Canavese area near Turin celebrates its signature fruit with the Peach Festival. Reaching its 57th edition in 2026, the event organized by the Pro Loco Maglione brings Piazza Regina Margherita to life with displays and sales of local peaches, a food pavilion, a market featuring local crafts and produce, and lively evenings of live music. It is an authentic village festival where peach-growing traditions blend with Piedmontese conviviality.

The peach festival in Maglione

The Maglione Peach Festival is one of the most cherished summer events in the Canavese, a region of hills and plains north of Turin where peach cultivation has ancient roots. Every year, on the last weekend of July, the small town of Maglione—home to just over four hundred residents in the province of Turin, in the heart of Piedmont—transforms into a grand meeting place centered around the fruit that has become its symbol. In 2026, the event celebrates its 57th edition, a testament to a tradition passed down through generations.

The star of the show

The heart of the festival is the display and sale of peaches from local producers, set up in Piazza Regina Margherita. The peach trees in the Maglione area, favored by the mild climate and local soil, yield sweet and fragrant fruit, which are presented to the public on Sunday and awarded in a competition for the finest peaches. Surrounding this core are walks through the orchards, offering a chance to discover local peach farming up close.

Gastronomy and conviviality

The Pro Loco food pavilion is one of the festival's highlights: from evening themed menus that creatively reinterpret the peach by pairing it with Piedmontese flavors like battuta di fassona (beef tartare) and veal tagliata, to Sunday lunch featuring traditional dishes. There is also a cocktail bar, peach-based desserts, and the classic atmosphere of a village feast where people gather around the table.

Market, music, and entertainment

During the festival, Piazza Regina Margherita hosts a market of local food products and handicrafts, featuring farmers, hobbyists, and local artisans. The evenings are accompanied by live music and DJ sets, while Sunday is also dedicated to families, with entertainment, games, and activities for children. It is a proven formula that combines rural tradition, great taste, and fun.

A Canavese tradition

The Peach Festival is much more than just a food event: it is a moment of identity for Maglione and the entire Canavese region, an opportunity to promote a local agricultural product and rediscover the sense of community in a Piedmontese village. The event is organized by the Pro Loco Maglione with the patronage of the Municipality.
