Family weeks in Val di Fiemme, with stops in Daiano, Varena, and Carano
Magica Fiemme — Family Weeks is a widespread festival that, in the height of summer, transforms Val di Fiemme into a large open-air stage dedicated to children and families. The format is signed by Armando Traverso, a historic author and face of Rai television for children and teenagers, and was born from a collaboration with the Fiemme and Cembra Tourist Board. The events involve all the municipalities of the valley, with the Municipality of Ville di Fiemme — created from the merger of the villages of Daiano, Varena, and Carano, in the province of Trento — among the key locations.
The calendar alternates evening shows in parks and squares with daytime activities designed for the little ones. Evenings light up with illusionist performances by magicians such as Van Denon, Nicole, Ale Bellotto, and Cristina Valenti, accompanied by friendly puppets and musical moments linked to Rai Radio Kids. During the day, creative and educational workshops take place:
A special chapter is dedicated to narrative excursions at altitude: walks accompanied by guides and Armando Traverso, during which Dolomite landscapes and traditional local fairy tales intertwine in an experience suitable for the whole family.
In the Municipality of Ville di Fiemme, the village playgrounds become the festival's set. The Daiano Playground hosts the evening shows — from the special episode of Rai Radio Kids with Armando Traverso and the puppets Lella and DJ, to the illusionist show with magicians Van Denon and Nicole. In Varena and Carano, afternoon workshops are held, dedicated to creative recycling, science, and discovering the secrets of magic. All events are free and take place outdoors; in case of bad weather, the appointments are guaranteed in indoor facilities (for Daiano, the Varena Fire Brigade tent).
Beyond the fun, Magica Fiemme is an opportunity to discover Val di Fiemme and its excellence, with connections to attractions such as the Storytelling Village at Alpe Cermis, the Latemar MontagnAnimata, and the Geological Museum of the Dolomites in Predazzo. The festival is part of the broader commitment of Trentino-Alto Adige to family tourism, offering residents and visitors an authentic and free way to experience summer in the mountains of the Municipality of Ville di Fiemme and the entire valley.
The 2026 edition of Magica Fiemme takes place from July 1st to 15th throughout Val di Fiemme, with various events in the Municipality of Ville di Fiemme. The program alternates evening illusionist shows — with magicians such as Van Denon, Nicole, Ale Bellotto, and Cristina Valenti — with daytime workshops on creative recycling, scientific experiments, and magic. In Ville di Fiemme, the Daiano Playground hosts the special episode of Rai Radio Kids with Armando Traverso and the illusionist show, while Varena and Carano host afternoon workshops. There is no shortage of narrative excursions at altitude accompanied by Armando Traverso and mountain guides. All events are free and outdoors; in case of bad weather, they take place indoors.
The villages of Ville di Fiemme (Daiano, Varena, and Carano) can be reached by car from the A22 Brenner motorway (exit Egna/Ora or San Michele all'Adige/Mezzocorona) by driving up the Val di Fiemme along the SS48 of the Dolomites. By train, the reference station is Ora/Auer, connected to the valley by scheduled buses.
All events are free. For workshops, booking is recommended through the Fiemme and Cembra Tourist Board (tel. +39 0462 241111) or the website www.visitfiemme.it.
Evening shows are held at the Daiano Playground, while afternoon workshops take place in the playgrounds of Varena and Carano. In case of bad weather, appointments move indoors. Bring suitable mountain clothing for the narrative excursions at altitude.
