About MadeInTerraneo Fest

MadeInTerraneo Fest is an independent theater, music, and community festival that lights up the historic center of Anagni, in the province of Frosinone, every summer. Born from the grassroots and supported by crowdfunding, it brings contemporary drama out of conventional venues: courtyards, porticoes, parks, and squares become vibrant stages. The second edition, from July 10 to 19, 2026, focuses on the theme of rights, weaving together theater performances, concerts, book presentations, and workshops, almost all with free admission.

A grassroots festival

MadeInTerraneo Fest is one of the most original cultural experiences of the summer in Anagni, the historic City of Popes in the heart of Ciociaria, in the province of Frosinone, Lazio. Conceived and organized by the MadeInTerraneo APS association, the festival has a unique characteristic: it is born and thrives without public funding, supported entirely by the community. For the 2026 edition, a crowdfunding campaign involved over two hundred supporters, raising almost the entire budget needed to put the program together.

The second edition: ten days on the theme of rights

Following its 2024 debut, the second edition takes place from July 10 to 19, 2026, choosing rights as its central theme: our relationship with the land, physical and mental well-being, and environmental issues. Ten packed days where the historic center of Anagni transforms into a true open-air stage, featuring 19 events including five theater plays by companies and artists from all over Italy, five concerts, a book presentation, two workshops, and a swap party accompanied by brunch.

The 2026 program

  • "Mi Manca Van Gogh" by and with Francesca Astrei, an intense monologue bringing a true and moving story to the stage;
  • "Questa è casa mia" by and with Alessandro Blasioli, which tells the story of L'Aquila with irony and depth, performed at the Parco della Rimembranza;
  • "Mani di Sarta" by Andrea Di Palma, written with Federica Ponza and featuring music by Francesco Cellitti: a piece of civic theater that turns the environmental wound of the Sacco Valley into collective memory;
  • "Storia di Nico", a monologue by Emanuele Ricchetti at the Parco della Rimembranza;
  • concerts by Mariachi Romatitlán and the Ukus in Fabula Ukulele Duo, as well as the blues sounds of the group Walking Blues;
  • the presentation of the book "Troppo neri" by Saverio Tommasi with photographs by Francesco Malavolta;
  • workshops, including the dance-theater workshop led by Maddalena Scardi, and the Swap Party with brunch at Caffetteria 2.0.

Theater outside conventional spaces

The festival's most defining choice is to bring the stage where it usually doesn't reach: not just theaters and halls, but courtyards, porticoes, the Portico del Comune, the Parco della Rimembranza, and the lesser-known corners of the historic center. The idea is to create an experience that truly engages the public and restores meeting spaces to the city. Admission to shows and concerts is free, with the sole exception of the dance-theater workshop, which is paid and concludes with a final performance.

Anagni and Ciociaria

Hosting such a festival in Anagni is no coincidence: the city boasts an extraordinary medieval center, dominated by the Cathedral and the Palace of Boniface VIII, and has always been a cultural crossroads in the province of Frosinone. MadeInTerraneo Fest fits into this fabric as a young, independent, and emerging project, capable of giving a voice to new Italian drama and the social themes of the present, from the environment to inclusion.
