About Buon'Estate

Buon'Estate is the performing arts review that every July transforms Palazzo Buonaccorsi, in the heart of Macerata, into an open-air stage. Promoted by the Municipality of Macerata with AMAT, it offers a week of contemporary dance, author music, storytelling, and children's theatre between the evocative Sala dell'Eneide and the courtyard of the historic palace.

A week of performing arts at Palazzo Buonaccorsi

In July, the 18th-century Palazzo Buonaccorsi in Macerata transforms into a widespread stage for Buon'Estate, the performing arts review that brings dance, music, storytelling, and children's theatre to the most fascinating spaces of the historic residence. The shows take place in the elegant Sala dell'Eneide and in the courtyard of the palace, creating an intimate and unprecedented dialogue between the audience, the artists, and the architecture of the historic centre of Macerata.

A project by the Municipality of Macerata with AMAT

The review is promoted by the Municipality of Macerata together with AMAT (Associazione Marchigiana Attività Teatrali), with the support of the Marche Region and the Ministry of Culture (MiC) and in collaboration with the local reality Lagrù. It is now a well-established event in Macerata's cultural summer, the capital of the province of the same name in the Marche region, and is part of the broader programme of Estate a Macerata.

Between big names and theatre for the little ones

The programme alternates proposals for adult audiences and a day entirely dedicated to children, "Il Cortile delle Storie" (The Courtyard of Stories), with world theatres taking turns on stage. The hallmark of the review is the quality of research: choreographers from the contemporary scene, new voices in Italian songwriting, and storytellers capable of reinventing the great classics follow one another in a compact format, where listening and closeness to the artists become part of the experience.

Macerata, city of stages

Buon'Estate confirms Macerata's vocation as a city of theatre and live performance, from the Sferisterio to the historic theatres in the centre. Attending a show in the courtyard of Palazzo Buonaccorsi, under the summer sky of the Marche, is an intimate and evocative way to experience the city's heritage in a contemporary key.

Buon'Estate — edition 2026

The 2026 edition of Buon'Estate enlivens Palazzo Buonaccorsi in Macerata from July 7 to 12 with contemporary dance, author music, storytelling, and children's theatre. The programme includes a dance project by Sara Sguotti, a concert by Massimo Silverio, an interactive monologue by Cesare Catà, and a day dedicated to children.

The performing arts review Buon'Estate 2026 returns to Palazzo Buonaccorsi in Macerata from July 7 to 12, 2026, promoted by the Municipality of Macerata with AMAT, the support of the Marche Region and the MiC, and in collaboration with Lagrù.
