The free music festival in Morrovalle, in the heart of the Marche region
The Fool Festival is one of the most beloved summer music events in the province of Macerata. Founded in 2014, every July it transforms Piazzale Borgo Marconi in Morrovalle — the space in front of the former convent of San Francesco, at the entrance to the historic centre — into a large open-air stage. Its winning formula is simple and radical: admission to all concerts is completely free, thanks to a participatory model built on volunteers and community.
The festival combines music and socialising, transforming the audience into active participants in the event. The stage features prominent names in Italian alternative rock and singer-songwriter genres, DJ sets, emerging artists, and proposals from the independent scene. Alongside the concerts, the evenings offer silent disco, street art installations, art exhibitions, craft markets, food stalls, and beer gardens: a multi-sensory experience that goes beyond just a concert.
Organised by the Associazione culturale PrimaVera Morrovalle with the patronage of the Municipality of Morrovalle, over the years the Fool has become one of the most followed events in the province, capable of attracting spectators from all over the Marche region. Recent editions have featured artists such as I Ministri, Tre allegri ragazzi morti, Punkreas, Giancane, and numerous DJs and bands from the Italian scene, alongside a stage dedicated to emerging artists.
The Fool Festival takes place in Morrovalle, a hilltop village in the province of Macerata, in the Marche region. The venue is Piazzale Borgo Marconi, easily accessible on foot from the historic centre, which comes alive for several consecutive evenings in July.
The Fool Festival returns to Morrovalle (Macerata) on the second weekend of July 2026, once again at Piazzale Borgo Marconi and with the formula that made it famous: completely free admission to all concerts. The event is organised by the Associazione culturale PrimaVera Morrovalle, with a participatory model based on volunteers and community.
As in previous editions, alongside the concerts, there will be food stalls, craft areas, exhibitions, and relaxation areas, making the festival an experience that combines music and socialising.
The rest of the 2026 lineup (other artists, DJ sets, and side activities) will be announced by the organisation in the weeks preceding the event. As tradition dictates, the programme spans multiple evenings with concerts, silent disco, street art, and exhibitions.
