A Journey Through the Centuries in Ferentillo

Le Rocche Raccontano is the grand historical-theatrical re-enactment in Ferentillo, located in the Terni area of Valnerina. It's not a simple reconstruction, but an authentic journey through time where past and present meet in a collective narrative. The two medieval villages of Matterella and Precetto, separated by the Nera River, become the natural stage for the event.

Fourteen Living Pictures

The heart of the event lies in the fourteen living pictures, brought to life by over 500 participants, who guide visitors through the history of the area: from the first inhabitants, the Naharki, to World War I, passing through the Syrian hermits, monasticism, the medieval village and the noble Cybo family, the witch and the Inquisition, the brigands of Valnerina, the plague of 1657, the Napoleonic occupation, the post house, and the inauguration of the Terni-Ferentillo tramway in 1909.

White Night, Jousting Tournament, and Taverns

The program is enriched by the historical pageant, the jousting tournament, exhibitions, conferences, concerts, and shows, while at the Taverna dell'Abbadia, visitors can enjoy typical Valnerina dishes every evening. Among the most anticipated moments is the Notte Bianca (White Night), considered one of the best in Italy. Organized by the Pro Loco of Ferentillo, the event is a celebration of identity that intertwines history, theatre, and community in the heart of Umbria.
