The Laces Fire Brigade Festival

The Latsch Volunteer Fire Brigade Festival (Fest der freiwilligen Feuerwehr Latsch) is the summer celebration organized by the volunteer firefighters of Laces, one of the most cherished events of the summer in the Vinschgau Valley. It takes place in the heart of the village, on the Festplatz along Marktstraße, drawing locals, vacationers, and tourists for two days of collective joy.

A Community Tradition

As in many South Tyrolean villages, the volunteer firefighters are more than just a safety force: they are the heart of social life in the municipality of Laces. Their annual festival is an occasion for the community to come together, support the corps through their participation, and celebrate the spirit of volunteerism that drives the village. Proceeds contribute to the corps' operations and equipment.

Atmosphere and Program

The festival combines the authenticity of South Tyrolean tradition with the warmth of a village gathering. Under the marquee and in the open air, you will find:

• Typical Gastronomy: grilled specialties, South Tyrolean dishes, homemade desserts, and draft beer;
• Live Music with bands and entertainment groups performing throughout the evenings;
• Children's Program and family activities, including games and entertainment;
• Convivial moments that continue late into the night.

In some editions, the festival is enriched by the famous vintage fire engine rally (Oldtimertreffen), which brings dozens of historic fire trucks from South Tyrol, Austria, Germany, Switzerland, and Liechtenstein to Laces, featuring a parade through the village, vehicle blessings, and scenic helicopter flights.

Laces and the Vinschgau Valley

Located at an altitude of about 640 meters along the Adige River, the municipality of Laces (Latsch), in the province of Bolzano, is an ideal starting point for exploring the Vinschgau Valley and the nearby Martell Valley. The fire brigade festival is an excellent opportunity to experience the authentic hospitality of this corner of Trentino-Alto Adige, amidst tradition, great food, and alpine landscapes.
