The Larino Summer Festival
The Cavatelli Festival is one of the historic events of the summer in Larino, in the province of Campobasso. Celebrated in honor of the Madonna del Carmelo, the festival combines religious devotion and gastronomic tradition in the heart of the historic center, in Piazza Duomo.
Handmade Cavatelli
The absolute star is the typical Molise pasta: the cavatelli are handmade by the women of the community, who work on their preparation in the months leading up to the festival. On the evening of the festival, the pasta is served to visitors in a convivial atmosphere that evokes the authentic rural culture of Lower Molise.
A Community Tradition
Organized by the Festival Committee of the Parish of San Pardo, the Cavatelli Festival is part of the Larino Summer calendar and represents a moment of gathering for the entire city of Larino, amidst faith, flavors, and tradition.
Cavatelli Festival — edition 2026
In 2026, the Cavatelli Festival will once again liven up Piazza Duomo in Larino for an evening in July dedicated to the Madonna del Carmelo. As tradition dictates, the women of the community will hand-make the famous cavatelli, served to visitors starting in the evening. The event is organized by the Festival Committee of the Parish of San Pardo as part of the Larino Summer.
