A seminar on listening and sharing in a circle on Isola del Giglio
In the heart of the Tuscan spring, Isola del Giglio hosts La Via del Cerchio, a seminar on connection and listening that has found its home in the historic Torre del Campese. The initiative is promoted by the Giglio Tribù cultural association and is aimed at anyone wishing to rediscover the value of sharing and authentic communication, set against the beauty of the Tuscan Archipelago in the province of Grosseto.
The seminar is inspired by the teachings of Native Americans, as passed down by Manitonquat, a storyteller and guardian of the Wampanoag tradition. The circle becomes the central tool of the experience: a space where we look at and listen to each other with respect and empathy, free from judgment. Each participant is invited to speak and share their story, while others listen in silence, fostering a climate of trust and mutual acceptance.
La Via del Cerchio attracts people every year from various parts of Italy and Europe: families, children, young people, adults, and seniors gather for a few days of communal living and exchange. The event has an intergenerational and community-focused spirit, designed for those seeking a personal growth experience far from the frantic pace of daily life.
The seminar does not take place only indoors: participants explore the island, bringing the circle outdoors to coves, trails, and scenic spots across the Tuscan Archipelago. The natural dimension of Giglio becomes an integral part of the journey, blending inner listening with contact with the Mediterranean landscape.
The full seminar runs from Wednesday to Sunday. For those seeking an introduction to the experience, an introductory session is scheduled for Friday or Saturday afternoon, subject to weather and organizational conditions. Participation is by registration: sign-ups and information are handled directly by the representatives of the Giglio Tribù association.
The fourth edition of the La Via del Cerchio seminar brought life to Isola del Giglio from May 20 to 24, 2026, based at the Torre del Campese. For five days, from Wednesday to Sunday, people of all ages from across Italy and Europe gathered in a circle to listen to one another with respect and empathy, following the Native American teachings passed down by Manitonquat. The program alternated between circle sessions and island exploration outings organized by the Giglio Tribù cultural association.
Full seminar from Wednesday to Sunday (May 20-24, 2026), including circle sessions, listening and sharing, and island exploration. Introductory session open on Friday or Saturday afternoon, depending on weather and logistics.
Isola del Giglio can be reached by ferry from the port of Porto Santo Stefano (Monte Argentario), with crossings managed by the Toremar and Maregiglio companies. The crossing takes about an hour. The Torre del Campese is located in Campese Bay, on the western side of the island.
Participation is by reservation. For information and registration: Silvia +39 335 1400335, Serena +39 349 1925034 (Giglio Tribù Cultural Association).
We recommend comfortable clothing for outdoor activities and booking your island accommodation well in advance, especially in the spring.
