La Masseria Cup, the Western festival of the Teramo region

In the green heart of the Guardia Vomano plains, part of the Municipality of Notaresco in the province of Teramo, La Masseria Cup comes to life every summer. This festival blends Western equestrian sports, motor shows, live music, and great food into one large, free-entry public event. Hosted at La Masseria dei Cavalieri, a historic Western riding center in Abruzzo, the event attracts enthusiasts, families, and curious visitors from across the region and beyond.

Equestrian competitions: team penning and ranch sorting

The sporting core of the event features Western riding competitions organized by La Masseria dei Cavalieri in partnership with the federal ASD Oklahoma Ranch, under the aegis of FITETREC-ANTE. Teams compete in the arena in team penning and ranch sorting, where horse and rider must select and guide calves with precision and speed. These races, which serve as a stage of the national championship, bring riders from all over Italy to Notaresco, creating an atmosphere reminiscent of major overseas rodeos.

Motors, music, and entertainment

Alongside the competitions, La Masseria Cup offers a rich entertainment program. Freestyle motocross performances and motor stunts provide an adrenaline rush for the audience, while the evenings heat up with live music: country and folk sounds alternate with great 90s hits, not to mention cabaret moments and variety shows.

An event for the whole family

The festival is also designed for the little ones, with areas dedicated to children and teenagers, including off-road tracks, mini quads, and play areas. To complete the experience, numerous food stalls offer a rich selection of traditional Abruzzo dishes, from pasta courses to meat-based main dishes, in a festive and convivial atmosphere.

Promoted by the Municipality of Notaresco and the organizers of La Masseria dei Cavalieri, La Masseria Cup has established itself over the years as one of the most anticipated Western events in Abruzzo, successfully combining sport, tradition, entertainment, and gastronomy in a stunning natural setting. Admission is free, and the festivities run from the afternoon until late at night.
