Free summer concerts in Piazza Vittorio Veneto
In just a few years, the Sammichele Music Festival has become one of the most popular free music festivals in the province of Bari. Organized by the Municipality of Sammichele di Bari, with the patronage of the Puglia Region, the Metropolitan City of Bari, and Pugliapromozione, it brings top names from the Italian and international music scene to the stage in Piazza Vittorio Veneto every summer.
The formula is simple and successful: major concerts with completely free admission in one of the most beautiful and welcoming squares in the historic center. Capacity is capped at a maximum of 5,000 people per evening to ensure safety and comfort for the audience arriving from all over Puglia.
The festival's programming is intentionally diverse and designed for a broad, cross-generational audience: it ranges from international dance and Eurodance to pop, rap, singer-songwriter classics, hip hop, and electronic sounds. Each edition alternates between icons of Italian light music, current chart-toppers, and internationally acclaimed artists to create a calendar that speaks to multiple generations.
Sammichele di Bari is a lively town in the Bari hinterland, in central Puglia, known throughout the region for its Zampinaโthe typical rolled sausage celebrated every year by the historic Sagra della Zampina (Zampina Festival). In the 2026 calendar, the final two evenings of the festival, on September 26 and 27, coincide with the days of the festival, offering visitors a weekend that combines great live music with typical Apulian gastronomy.
More than just a concert series, the Sammichele Music Festival is a collective celebration that enlivens the town on summer evenings, with the square packed, local shops open, and an atmosphere of shared joy. It is the perfect opportunity to discover this corner of the Metropolitan City of Bari and experience the most authentic side of Puglia to the rhythm of music.
The 2026 edition of the Sammichele Music Festival confirms the formula of major free evenings in Piazza Vittorio Veneto, spread throughout the summer. Four events ranging from 90s international dance to modern pop rap, from hip hop to great Italian singer-songwriter music. The closing evenings on September 26 and 27 are part of the program of the 60th Sagra della Zampina, combining live music and Apulian gastronomic tradition.
Festival opening with American vocalist Penny Ford, famous for her 90s Eurodance and house hits with the group Snap! An evening dedicated to great international dance anthems.
Baby K, an icon of Italian pop rap and reggaeton and the only Italian artist to have achieved a diamond record, brings her summer hits to the square.
An evening of hip hop, trap, and electronic music with Latin influences featuring Samurai Jay, coinciding with the Sagra della Zampina.
Grand finale with Michele Zarrillo, a singer-songwriter with thirteen appearances at the Sanremo Festival, for an evening of great Italian singer-songwriter music.
All concerts are held in Piazza Vittorio Veneto, in the center of Sammichele di Bari (BA), Puglia. Admission is free until capacity is reached (maximum 5,000 people).
By car, Sammichele di Bari can be reached via the SS100 Bari-Taranto road, taking the exit for Casamassima/Sammichele. Parking areas are designated based on the direction of arrival (Bari, Gioia del Colle, Acquaviva, Turi/Putignano); parking for disabled persons is available on Viale della Rimembranza. By train, the nearest station is served by the Ferrovie del Sud Est.
Free admission, no booking required. Local Police emergency number: 080 891 8201. We recommend arriving early on evenings featuring the most anticipated artists, given the high turnout.
