The Sunday market for vintage, handmade goods, and independent design in the heart of the Flaminio district
La Domenica Vintage at Mediterraneo MAXXI is a Sunday market that debuted in the spring of 2026 in Rome, set within the spaces and garden of the Mediterraneo restaurant, inside the MAXXI museum complex on Via Guido Reni, in the Flaminio district. The initiative aims to recreate the atmosphere of Sundays past, defined by a slower pace and friendly conversation, all within a bright, contemporary setting just a stone's throw from the city center.
The market brings together selected exhibitors offering vintage clothing and accessories, handmade goods, independent design creations, illustrations, vinyl records for collectors, plants, and upcycled pieces, where reclaimed materials are given a new lease on life. Each edition features different exhibitors and projects, making every visit a unique experience: visitors can meet the creators in person and hear the story behind every object.
Beyond the stalls, the day is designed as a convivial moment for the whole family. Creative activities and workshops for children are planned, while the Mediterraneo restaurant complements the event with breakfast, brunch, and aperitif options, turning the visit into a full day dedicated to leisure and creativity.
The first edition was held on Sunday, April 19, 2026, and the format continued on a monthly basis throughout the following months, including a special edition on Saturday, May 9, and another on Sunday, June 7, 2026. Born in the heart of the city, the market integrates into the vibrant creative scene of the Flaminio district and the Roman calendar dedicated to vintage, craftsmanship, and design, offering a slow-paced alternative to traditional shopping.
The MAXXI - National Museum of 21st Century Arts, designed by architect Zaha Hadid, is one of the most important cultural hubs in Rome and the Lazio region. Hosting a vintage and creative market in its convivial spaces means combining contemporary culture, circular fashion, and social life in a single location, in the city of Rome, easily accessible and in the heart of one of the capital's most dynamic neighborhoods.
The inaugural season of La Domenica Vintage at Mediterraneo MAXXI consisted of three monthly appointments in the spring of 2026, all held in the spaces and garden of the Mediterraneo restaurant, inside the MAXXI in Rome.
Each day featured different exhibitors offering vintage clothing and accessories, handmade items, illustrations, vinyl records, plants, and upcycled creations, accompanied by creative workshops for children and the restaurant's breakfast, brunch, and aperitif offerings. Entry was free throughout.
