About Il Salotto di Prati

Every fourth Sunday of the month, excluding July and August, Piazza dei Quiriti transforms into the "Salotto di Prati": a refined antique and collectibles market in the heart of one of Rome's most elegant neighborhoods. Among the stalls of selected exhibitors, you will find porcelain, vintage watches, gramophones, prints, paintings, silverware, jewelry, and rare books. Organized by the Associazione Culturale L'Angelo di Castello, with free admission from 9 AM to 7 PM.

"Il Salotto di Prati", the antique market in the heart of Rome

Once a month, the central Piazza dei Quiriti, in the Prati district of Rome, comes alive with the stalls of the Piazza dei Quiriti Antique Market, also known as Il Salotto di Prati. It is a staple event for enthusiasts of antiques, vintage items, and collectibles, as well as for Romans nostalgic for old-fashioned neighborhood markets with a European flair. The square, framed by the Umbertine buildings of Prati, becomes an open-air living room for a day, where you can rediscover objects that tell the story and taste of the 20th century.

What you will find at the stalls

The carefully selected exhibitors offer high-quality goods ranging from genuine antiques to collectibles. Among the stalls, you can find:

  • fine porcelain, including pieces from the Herend manufactory;
  • vintage and collectible watches;
  • gramophones, radios, and small vintage items;
  • prints, paintings, and works by contemporary artists;
  • antique and vintage books;
  • silverware, vintage jewelry, and costume jewelry;
  • crafts, textiles, vintage clothing, and brocante.

It is the ideal place for a Sunday stroll in search of a rare find, an original gift, or simply for the pleasure of browsing through memories and objects from bygone days.

Piazza dei Quiriti and the Prati district

Piazza dei Quiriti is located in the heart of Prati, an elegant Roman neighborhood known for its wide avenues, refined atmosphere, and proximity to Castel Sant'Angelo and Vatican City. In the center of the square stands the scenic Fountain of the Caryatids, which serves as a backdrop to the stalls. Its location in the Municipality of Rome and the heart of the Metropolitan City of Rome Capital, in the Lazio region, makes the market easily accessible and perfect to combine with a visit to the neighborhood and its historic cafés.

A monthly appointment, every fourth Sunday

The market takes place on the fourth Sunday of every month, with a break only in July and August, from 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM. Admission is free and open to everyone. Its regular schedule makes it a neighborhood tradition, a Sunday ritual that accompanies Prati throughout the year.

Organization

Il Salotto di Prati is organized by the Associazione Culturale L'Angelo di Castello, which manages the selection of exhibitors to ensure the quality and variety of the offerings. The association keeps the spirit of historic Roman markets alive, promoting antiques and collectibles as part of the cultural heritage and neighborhood life of the Capital.
