The independent fashion and craft market at the MAXXI Spazio Mediterraneo
Urban Bazar is the high-quality craft and independent fashion market that, several times a year, transforms the MAXXI Spazio Mediterraneoโthe National Museum of 21st Century Artsโinto a vibrant crossroads of creativity. The event is held in Rome, at Via Guido Reni 4/A in the Flaminio district, bringing the atmosphere of the world's great markets to the museum's contemporary architecture, told through the hands and stories of Italian artisans.
Urban Bazar was born in 2017 from the intuition of Letizia Moroni, a jewelry designer, and Titti Barra, a fashion designer. The idea is simple yet powerful: to bring the vibes of great international bazaars back to the capital while showcasing local creative talent. In nearly ten years of activity, the event has become a landmark for those seeking unique pieces, far from the logic of fast fashion and mass production.
At each edition, around thirty selected exhibitors present their collections in the museum's bright spaces. The selection is deliberately eclectic, spanning different genres and materials:
From weaves of oriental silks to precious embroidery, from vintage English costume jewelry to gems with an ethnic inspiration, every stall tells a personal story of passion and craftsmanship.
What sets Urban Bazar apart is the choice to give each appointment a theme and a title, such as "Muses in the Mirror" or "Vitamina Chic," which guide the setup and the narrative of the day. The events mark the season from spring to autumn, offering a different journey through fashion, design, and artisan crafts each time.
Admission is free and open to all, and the atmosphere is friendly and relaxed. The event is pet-friendly and accessible, designed for families, curious visitors, and design enthusiasts. While visiting, you can also access the contemporary art exhibitions hosted in the other MAXXI halls, making it a perfect day that combines conscious shopping with culture. It is a great opportunity to discover a creative and contemporary side of Rome, in the heart of the Lazio region.
The 2026 season of Urban Bazar is divided into several events at the MAXXI Spazio Mediterraneo, each with its own theme. This year, the event confirms the formula that made it popular among Romans: around thirty selected exhibitors, free entry, and a curated selection of independent fashion, handcrafted jewelry, bijoux, bags, vintage pieces, and home design objects.
The first two dates of the season took place on March 29, 2026, with the "Muses in the Mirror" edition, and May 24, 2026, with "Vitamina Chic," both from 11:00 AM to 7:30 PM. The season continues with the highly anticipated autumn edition in October.
