The vertical uphill race that challenges the slopes of Lumezzane towards Monte Sonclino
La Direttissima is a vertical uphill race held in Lumezzane, Val Trompia, province of Brescia. The name says it all: no gentle slopes, but the most direct line upwards, where only the ability to gain altitude in the shortest possible time counts. It is one of the most intense races on the Brescia vertical scene.
The course starts from the evocative Church of San Giovanni Battista (the Pieve) and climbs towards the slopes of Monte Sonclino, tackling an elevation gain of about 880 meters over a distance of just under 4 kilometers. An challenging average gradient that turns every step into a test of strength, endurance, and technique, in pure individual time trial uphill race style.
The race is part of the Brixia Vertical Series, the circuit that brings together the main vertical competitions in the Brescia area. This inclusion confirms the technical value of the event and its ability to attract uphill running specialists, as well as amateurs eager to test their limits.
Behind La Direttissima is ASD I Lupi Lumezzane, a local sports club that organizes the event with the patronage of the Municipality. More than just a race, it is an event that celebrates the bond between the Lumezzane community, the mountains, and the passion for trail running, enhancing the trails and landscapes of Val Trompia.
