About Contesa delle Torri

La Contesa delle Torri is a historical reenactment of the 14th century that animates the villages of San Vito and Guadamello, hamlets of Narni (TR), every summer. The event takes us back to 1332, when the Scotti family elevated San Vito to the rank of court. The heart of the contest is an exciting archery competition, with which the two castles compete for a coveted plot of land located between the territories of the Towers.

A 14th Century to Experience between San Vito and Guadamello

The Contesa delle Torri is a historical-cultural reenactment of the 14th century that aims to promote the villages of San Vito and Guadamello, two hamlets in the municipality of Narni, in the province of Terni. The event revives the year 1332, when the Scotti family elevated San Vito to the rank of court, freeing it from the obligation of the gift of the candle to San Giovenale, patron saint of Narni.

The Towers' Challenge

The highlight is an engaging archery competition, with which the two castles compete for a rich plot of land located exactly between the territories of the Towers. Around the challenge, the villages dress up in medieval style with costume parades, encampments, shows, craft markets, and taverns where you can taste traditional Umbrian dishes.

A Village That Tells Its Story

More than a show, the Contesa delle Torri is a way to rediscover an episode of local history and the ancient bond between Narni and its country castles. An event that every year attracts curious people and historical reenactment enthusiasts to the heart of the Valnerina.

Contesa delle Torri — edition 2026

The 9th edition of La Contesa delle Torri takes place from June 18 to 21, 2026, between the villages of San Vito and Guadamello (Narni). Four days of 14th-century reenactment with costume parades, medieval encampments, shows, and the archery challenge between the two castles, set in the year 1332 when San Vito was elevated to court.

The 2026 edition (the ninth) of La Contesa delle Torri is held from Thursday, June 18 to Sunday, June 21 in the villages of San Vito and Guadamello, hamlets of Narni. The reenactment brings 1332 back to life, the year the Scotti family elevated San Vito to the rank of court.

The program alternates historical parades, encampments, street performances, craft markets, taverns with medieval cuisine, and the traditional archery competition with which the two castles compete for the plot of land located between the Towers.
