The Infiorata Sangeminese is one of the most beloved and anticipated events in San Gemini, in the province of Terni. It takes place on the occasion of the solemnity of Corpus Domini and transforms the historic center into a large floral mosaic: the village streets are covered with petals for the procession's passage.
The night of the flower-layers
The work begins on Saturday afternoon and continues throughout the night: groups of flower-layers, local associations, and schools patiently create designs, symbols, and sacred images using fresh flowers, petals, leaves, and dried and chopped plant materials. By dawn on Sunday, the streets are ready to welcome the faithful and visitors.
The procession and awards
Sunday is dedicated to religious celebrations, with the Holy Mass and the solemn Corpus Domini procession that winds through the floral carpets. In the late afternoon, the most beautiful compositions are also awarded. The Infiorata Sangeminese, considered among the most evocative in central Italy, is an opportunity to discover the elegance of the Umbrian village and a tradition that combines devotion, ephemeral art, and community.

The 29th edition of the Infiorata Sangeminese takes place on June 6 and 7, 2026. Saturday, June 6, starting at 3:00 PM, the creation of the floral carpets on the village streets begins, a work that continues throughout the night. Sunday, June 7, the compositions welcome the faithful for the Holy Mass and the solemn Corpus Domini procession along the petal carpets, before the awards ceremony for the most beautiful compositions created by groups, associations, and schools.

San Gemini (Terni) can be reached by car along the SS3 Flaminia or from the E45/superstrada (Terni exit). By train to Terni, then bus to San Gemini.
