Jëuni Rocking Sëlva

A youth festival at the foot of the Dolomites

Jëuni Rocking Sëlva is the summer festival promoted by the youth association Jëuni de Sëlva in the municipality of Selva di Val Gardena (Wolkenstein in Gröden), in the province of Bolzano, in the heart of Trentino-Alto Adige. Every year, for the festival evening, the Town Hall Square (Gemeindeplatz) transforms into an open-air stage, animated by live music, food stalls, and the relaxed, convivial atmosphere typical of the Ladin valleys.

Music, food, and conviviality

The event format is simple and well-established: concerts and musical entertainment, local culinary specialties, and drinks, all in an informal setting designed to bring together young people, residents, and holiday guests. The festival is organized by the local youth association, which manages the square's setup, the selection of bands, and the welcoming of the public every year.

An appointment born in 2015

The first edition of Jëuni Rocking Sëlva was held in 2015 and, thanks to the great success achieved over the years, the festival has become a consolidated tradition of the summer in Selva di Val Gardena. The event is part of the rich summer calendar of Val Gardena, one of the most famous valleys in the Dolomites, a UNESCO World Heritage site, world-renowned for skiing, hiking, and its vibrant Ladin culture.

In the Ladin heart of Val Gardena

Selva di Val Gardena is the last of the three municipalities in the valley as you head up towards the Sella and Gardena mountain passes. Ladin, German, and Italian are spoken here, and popular events like this youth festival reflect the multilingual identity and strong social cohesion of mountain communities.
