The Romagna round of the Italian Enduro Major & Veteran Championship, on the trails of Montefeltro
The Italian Enduro Major & Veteran Championship stops in Montecopiolo, a small municipality in the hinterland of the Province of Rimini, in Emilia-Romagna, which moved from the province of Pesaro and Urbino to Rimini in 2021. The race takes place in the hamlet of Villagrande, on the hills of Montefeltro near Mount Carpegna, in a natural setting that has been an ideal ground for enduro and outdoor sports for years.
The event is part of a five-round national championship, promoted by the Italian Motorcycle Federation (FMI) through Offroad Pro Racing, with local organization entrusted to the Moto Club Acerboli. The 2026 calendar includes Arma di Taggia, Palombara Sabina, Bosio, Montecopiolo, and Serravalle di Chienti.
Renamed, the championship is dedicated to the most experienced riders and divided by age groups. It ranges from the Top Class Major (born between 1973 and 1990) to the Expert, Skilled, Superveteran categories, up to the Iron classes for riders over 60. Over 250 riders responded to the inaugural event, a sign of the vitality of a discipline that values the experience and passion of those who have been racing for a lifetime.
The format is the classic time-controlled enduro:
Among the names announced for the Romagna round is the reigning Top Class champion Mattia Traversi, expected to compete along with other prominent figures in the national enduro scene. The challenge among the top riders in the Major categories promises spectacular racing on the technical tracks of Montefeltro.
Suspended between Romagna and Marche, the territory of Montecopiolo has long been linked to off-road two-wheelers: Villagrande regularly hosts enduro races and rounds of the Italian Trophy, in a natural amphitheater of woods, ridges, and Apennine trails. The event is also an opportunity to discover an authentic corner of Emilia-Romagna, between the Sanctuary of the Madonna di Pugliano and the peaks of Carpegna.
The Romagna round of the 2026 Italian Enduro Major & Veteran Championship is scheduled for Sunday, June 14, 2026, in Villagrande di Montecopiolo (Province of Rimini). Administrative and technical checks will be held on Saturday afternoon; the race starts on Sunday morning from the paddock set up in the main square, on a course of approximately 40 km to be repeated three times, with a Cross Test (four passes) and a Special Test (three passes) determining the times.
The fourth of five events on the national calendar (after Arma di Taggia, Palombara Sabina, and Bosio, before Serravalle di Chienti), the event is organized by Moto Club Acerboli under the auspices of FMI/Offroad Pro Racing. Among the announced protagonists is the reigning Top Class champion Mattia Traversi.
