The summer event calendar of Ispica spanning the gorge, historic center, and seaside
This edition has not been confirmed by the organiser to date. We recommend checking before going.
The Ispica Summer Festival is the main summer event calendar for the Municipality of Ispica, a Baroque city in the province of Ragusa overlooking the far south-eastern tip of Sicily. Promoted by the municipal administration together with the Pro Loco Spaccaforno (Spaccaforno is the ancient name of Ispica), the event enlivens the month of August with a rich and varied program dedicated to art, music, theater, and entertainment.
The program is traditionally divided into several thematic sections which, in recent editions, have taken names such as Summer in the Square, A Sea of Stars, and Mediterranean Rhythms. The underlying idea is to simultaneously enhance the various city "agoras" and the natural heritage of the territory: the historic center with its squares and late-Baroque palaces, the spectacular Cava d'Ispica with its rock-hewn dwellings, and the coastline between Santa Maria del Focallo and Marina di Marza, among the most beloved beaches in the Ragusa area.
The program alternates concerts by national artists, theatrical and cabaret shows, dance nights, Mediterranean music festivals, and gastronomic events. In past editions, the festival has hosted well-known names from the Italian scene and groups linked to the musical tradition of the South, as well as local bands and orchestras. There is no shortage of food festivals dedicated to typical local products, which combine entertainment and food culture.
More than just a single event, the Ispica Summer Festival is a container that accompanies the city's summer, with the aim of de-seasonalizing tourism and showcasing the historical, naturalistic, and gastronomic heritage of Ispica and the Iblei area. For residents and visitors, it represents an opportunity to experience summer evenings in the square and along the coast, in one of the most characteristic towns in the province of Ragusa.
The program for the 2026 Ispica Summer Festival has not yet been published. Based on recent editions, the festival is expected to take place in August across the historic center of Ispica, the Cava d'Ispica, and the coastline, featuring concerts, theatrical performances, dance nights, food festivals, and gastronomic events.
The dates for the 2026 edition have not yet been announced: the final program will be made known by the Municipality of Ispica and the Pro Loco Spaccaforno on official channels. This page will be updated as soon as dates and the line-up become available.
Ispica is located in south-eastern Sicily, in the province of Ragusa, along the SS115 between Modica and Pozzallo. By car, it can be reached from the motorway and the Iblei state roads; the Ispica railway station is served by the Syracuse-Gela line. The nearest airports are Comiso and Catania-Fontanarossa.
The events are distributed between the historic center (squares and streets of the Baroque core), the Cava d'Ispica, and the coastline of Santa Maria del Focallo and Marina di Marza.
Many events have free admission. The detailed program, times, and any access methods are published by the Municipality of Ispica on the official website and municipal social media channels.
