The inclusive run along the Bisceglie seafront
Some sporting events are measured in seconds and podiums, while others are measured in people holding hands. Io Corro con Te belongs to the latter category: it is the non-competitive run-walk that brings the Bisceglie seafront to life every spring, on the coast of the Barletta-Andria-Trani (BAT) province in Puglia. Organized by the Bisceglie Running association, a sports group long committed to social issues, the event features neither rankings nor competition: the focus is entirely on the people and the simple desire to run together.
The course spans approximately 6 kilometers along the Levante seafront, with the meeting point and start located in the Conca dei Monaci area. For the occasion, the seafront is closed to vehicular traffic, transforming into a long, colorful ribbon winding between the sea, the breeze, and the hues of the Apulian Adriatic coast. Staggered starts for different groups allow everyone, from children to the elderly, to experience the run at their own pace, without pressure or timers.
The heart of the event is inclusion. Running alongside local citizens are visually impaired and blind athletes from all over Italy, guests from Universo Salute โ Opera Don Uva engaged in rehabilitation programs, and individuals supported by the Lega del Filo d'Oro, a national reference point for the deaf-blind and those with multi-sensory disabilities. The event also provides a platform for third-sector organizations such as Sud4Pancreas, dedicated to fighting pancreatic diseases, and the Associazione Antiviolenza Sarah, active in preventing violence against women. In short, it is a sport that leaves no one behind.
Born as a small local initiative, Io Corro con Te has grown over the years into one of the most popular events on the Bisceglie calendar, attracting over 1,500 participants. It is a community event before it is a sporting oneโa way for the city to come together and connect. Proceeds and awareness efforts support the involved associations, while the official jersey given to every participant has become the event's recognizable symbol. It is an appointment that reminds Bisceglie and the entire BAT province every year of the value of running not against someone, but with someone.
The 2026 edition, the eleventh of the event, recorded a sold out with over 1,500 registered participants. Despite the light morning rain, a long line of runners covered the approximately 6 kilometers of the Levante seafront, with staggered starts by group from Conca dei Monaci. The edition was dedicated to the memory of Alicia Amoruso, with the participation of her class, and to Alex Zanardi. The solidarity vocation of the run was confirmed, with the presence of the associations involved in the inclusion project.
Jersey pickup also available the previous day, Saturday, May 9 from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM in Piazza San Francesco (Palazzuolo area).
Levante seafront, Conca dei Monaci area, Bisceglie (BT), Puglia. The seafront is closed to vehicular traffic during the event: it is recommended to reach the area on foot.
Every year in spring, usually on the second Sunday of May. The meeting point is early in the morning, with the start in the late morning.
