The capital's premier tattoo convention, held at Atlantico Live in the EUR district
The International Tattoo Expo Rome is one of Italy's longest-running and most renowned conventions dedicated to tattooing and body art. Every year in May, the event draws thousands of enthusiasts to Atlantico Live in the EUR district of Rome, turning the capital into an international reference point for ink art. Founded in the early 2000s, the event has now surpassed twenty-five editions and remains one of the most anticipated appointments in the tattoo scene across Lazio and all of Italy.
The heart of the convention lies in the tattoo artist booths: over one hundred carefully selected Italian and international artists work live in front of the public. From traditional styles to realism, blackwork to Japanese, and old school to the latest contemporary trends, visitors can admire every stage of the tattooing process up close and, if they wish, book a session by contacting their chosen artist directly.
Alongside the live tattooing sessions, the program features traditional contests that award the best work across various stylistic categories, judged by industry experts. However, the convention is more than just tattoos: the atmosphere is that of a true urban culture festival, animated by live painting, street art performances, a skate area, markets, and craft stalls linked to the world of illustration and alternative fashion.
The weekend is punctuated by live concerts and DJ sets that accompany the two days, while the food truck area offers street food and refreshments for a break between booths. The informal and inclusive environment of Atlantico, with its indoor and outdoor spaces, makes the experience suitable for enthusiasts and curious newcomers alike, including families and young people.
Hosted in the modern setting of the EUR district, amidst the rationalist architecture and wide boulevards of the city's southern area, the Province of Rome finds in this event one of the highlights that best captures the vitality of the capital's artistic and underground scene. The International Tattoo Expo Rome is now a meeting point for professionals, tattoo collectors, and body art enthusiasts, successfully blending traditional craftsmanship with contemporary experimentation.
The 26th edition of the International Tattoo Expo Rome was held on May 9 and 10, 2026 at Atlantico Live in EUR, with doors opening at 11:00 AM both days. This edition celebrated the twenty-five years of the convention's history, confirming its status as one of the most important events in the Italian tattoo scene.
The protagonists were over one hundred selected national and international tattoo artists, engaged in live tattooing sessions in front of the public. The program included contests to reward the best work, live painting, street art, a skate area, craft stalls, food trucks, and live concerts, for a weekend dedicated to body art and urban culture in the heart of Rome.
