Three days of global flavors and craft beers on the Pontine coast
The International Street Food is Italy's most important traveling event dedicated to high-quality street food: a national tour that visits hundreds of squares across the peninsula every year. Created and curated by Alfredo Orofino, president of A.I.R.S. (Italian Street Restaurateurs Association), known by the press as the «king of street food». The Terracina stop, in the province of Latina, has become a staple of summer on the Pontine coast: in 2026, the city on the Ulysses Riviera hosted the 54th stage of the tour's 10th edition, with the patronage of the Municipality of Terracina.
For three days, Via Pecs transforms into an open-air gastronomic village: rows of food trucks and street kitchens, communal tables, and aromas mingling with the sea breeze. Admission is free and the stands remain open from late afternoon until midnight, making the event perfect for a family evening or a night out with friends after a day at the beach.
The heart of the event is the gastronomic offering, entrusted to selected operators representing Italian and international culinary traditions:
Accompanying the dishes is a selection of craft beers from Italian and European breweries: a tasting journey that is an integral part of the event's philosophy, designed to showcase the independent brewing world.
Behind the tour is A.I.R.S., the trade association founded by Orofino within Confartigianato to represent Italian street food vendors. The format selects operators based on the quality of raw materials and the authenticity of recipes; the project is also featured on television in the docu-reality «Il Trono del Gusto» aired on Rai 2, hosted by Orofino himself.
The setting is just as enticing as the event: Terracina, overlooking the Tyrrhenian Sea between Circeo and Sperlonga, is one of the most beloved seaside destinations in southern Lazio. The historic upper town, with the Temple of Jupiter Anxur dominating the city from the top of Monte Sant'Angelo, the port, and miles of beach make the Pontine town the ideal stop to combine a seaside vacation with fine dining. The International Street Food thus fits into the Municipality's rich summer calendar, bringing flavors from all over the world to the Lazio region.
The 2026 edition of the Terracina stop, scheduled from Friday, July 3 to Sunday, July 5 on Via Pecs, marked a symbolic milestone for the tour: the 54th stage of the 10th edition of the International Street Food, Italy's largest traveling street food circuit created by Alfredo Orofino. «The tenth edition represents an important milestone,» emphasized the organizer, recalling the work of selecting operators and promoting local and international gastronomic traditions.
The stands remained open every evening from 5:00 PM to midnight, with free admission. During the weekend of the Pontine stop, the fourth episode of the docu-reality «Il Trono del Gusto», dedicated to the world of Italian street food and hosted by Orofino himself, aired on Rai 2 on Saturday, July 4 at 11:15 AM.
Via Pecs, Terracina (LT). Stands open from 5:00 PM to midnight. Free admission, food and drinks available for purchase.
By car: from Rome, take the SS148 Pontina or SS7 Appia towards Terracina (approx. 1h30); from Naples, take the SS7 via Formia. Parking is available in areas near the seafront.
Monte San Biagio–Terracina Mare station (Rome–Naples line via Formia), then take a bus or taxi to the center of Terracina.
The highest turnout is recorded on Saturday evenings: it is best to arrive at opening time to avoid queues at the most popular stands.
