Street food from all over the world in Piazza Ventidio Basso, Ascoli Piceno
International Street Food is the Ascoli Piceno stop of the largest traveling festival dedicated to street food in Italy. For an entire weekend, Piazza Ventidio Basso, one of the most evocative squares in the historic center of Ascoli Piceno, in the Marche region, becomes a crossroads of gastronomic cultures: dozens of selected food trucks and stands gather to offer visitors a world tour of flavors, from regional Italian recipes to the most iconic international cuisine.
The strength of this festival is its variety. Among the stands, you'll find flavors that cross borders and traditions, with a special focus on the local Piceno cuisine:
The event, with free admission, is designed for families, young people, and street food enthusiasts. The atmosphere is typical of large public festivals: communal tables, mingling aromas, and the opportunity to stroll among the stands, tasting a bit of everything. The backdrop of Ascoli Piceno's historic center, with its travertine palaces, adds charm to a proven formula that draws thousands of visitors at every stop.
The event is conceived and organized by Alfredo Orofino, president of A.I.R.S. - Italian Street Food Restaurant Association, in collaboration with Confartigianato Ascoli Piceno and with the patronage of the Municipality of Ascoli Piceno. The festival, active for several years with over two hundred stops throughout Italy year-round, has made the selection of quality operators and respect for gastronomic traditions its hallmark, bringing street food to the squares of the province of Ascoli Piceno and the entire Marche region.
The 2026 edition of International Street Food in Ascoli Piceno took place from Friday, March 20 to Sunday, March 22 in Piazza Ventidio Basso, marking the seventh stop of the tenth edition of the traveling festival. An important anniversary for the event, which celebrated ten years of activity by bringing dozens of selected food trucks and stands to the square. Among the gastronomic offerings were Italian and international specialties, from Ascolana olives to Neapolitan pizza, from arrosticini to Mexican cuisine. The event, with free admission, confirmed the formula that has made the festival one of the most popular street food events in Italy.
