Alongside the religious celebrations, the day offers a true historical reenactment: the historical procession of the districts in 14th-century costumes, the ox-drawn cart, and, above all, the ancient ritual of the weighing and offering of candles by the mayors of the Mandamento, as stipulated by the municipal Statutes of 1346.

The festival involves the entire city: flag-throwers and musicians liven up the squares, the procession winds through the historic center, and collateral events – an artisan market, food stalls, and live music – accompany the day. Promoted by the Pro Loco of Amelia, the Festival of Saint Fermina is a fixed annual event that preserves a heritage of rites and traditions dating back to the Middle Ages, making it one of the most characteristic patron saint festivals in southern Umbria.
