Incontriamoci is a festive afternoon created in Castelletto Merli, a small town in the province of Alessandria nestled in the hills of Monferrato. The initiative was born from the Società Operaia di Mutuo Soccorso (S.O.M.S.) in the hamlet of Godio and a spontaneous group of citizens known as "Sparsi nel Bello." Its simple yet valuable goal is to bring together the people of a village that has recently welcomed many new families alongside long-time residents.
The Easter Edition
Following its debut in December 2025, "Incontriamoci" returned with a spring theme just before Easter. The lawn of the S.O.M.S. headquarters in Godio becomes the heart of the day, basking in the Monferrato spring sun. The program blends games and social interaction: a prize-winning treasure hunt with mixed teams open to adults and children, featuring challenges on local knowledge and Monferrato trivia; a chocolate Easter egg workshop that captures everyone's attention; and an Easter toast in the courtyard, with an exchange of greetings and a local food and wine surprise.
Reviving Traditions
The closing refreshments in the courtyard evoke the atmosphere of the ancient Easter ritual of Cantè J'Euv, the Piedmontese tradition of singing for eggs that once accompanied the Easter season in the countryside. It is a way to rediscover the rural roots of Monferrato and keep alive the memory of a community that, through the S.O.M.S., preserves over seventy years of history of mutual aid and social life.
A Growing Project
"Incontriamoci" is not an isolated event but a journey that the S.O.M.S. of Castelletto Merli continues with various appointments throughout the year, highlighting the twelve localities that make up the municipality. The initiatives are completely free and designed to involve all generations, from children to the elderly.

Incontriamoci — edition 2026
The 2026 Easter edition of Incontriamoci brought the hamlet of Godio, in Castelletto Merli, to life on Saturday, April 6, starting in the afternoon. The lawn of the S.O.M.S. headquarters was the heart of the day, under a spring sun that encouraged great participation, including many children.
The prize-winning treasure hunt saw four teams formed by draw compete in challenges dedicated to knowledge of the Monferrato area: all participants received prizes and recognition. The chocolate Easter egg workshop captured the attention of both adults and children, while the day concluded with refreshments and a toast in the courtyard, in an atmosphere that evoked the ancient Easter ritual of Cantè J'Euv.

Saturday, April 6, 2026 — from 3:00 PM
- 3:00 PM — Prize-winning treasure hunt: mixed teams drawn by lot, open to adults and children, with challenges to find local landmarks, Monferrato trivia, and creative moments. Four teams competed, with prizes and recognition for all participants.
- Workshop on making chocolate Easter eggs, for children and adults.
- Easter toast in the courtyard, with refreshments, an exchange of greetings, and a local food and wine surprise, in the atmosphere of the ancient Cantè J'Euv ritual.

How to get there
Castelletto Merli is located in the Casale Monferrato area, in the province of Alessandria. By car, it can be reached from Casale Monferrato or Asti via the scenic Monferrato hill roads; the events take place in the hamlet of Godio, at the S.O.M.S. headquarters.
