An evening journey of wine and flavors through the historic alleys of Esperia
Incontri diVino brings the historic center of Esperia, a village in the province of Frosinone, in the heart of southern Lazio, to life. As summer arrives, the village alleys are bathed in soft light, becoming a walking route to explore glass in hand, with tasting stops and corners that tell the story of the hamlet. The format is that of a widespread event: not a single stage, but an entire historic center that lights up after sunset to welcome residents and visitors.
The common thread of the evening is the local food and wine culture. Along the route, you will find stands dedicated to wine and typical products of the Ciociaria region, where you can sample local labels paired with traditional cuisine. Wine thus becomes a key to interpreting the agricultural landscape and the peasant culture of this part of Lazio, in an encounter between producers, restaurateurs, and the public that highlights the excellence of the area.
The strength of Incontri diVino lies in its setting. Esperia rises on the slopes of the Monti Aurunci, in a position that connects the Ciociaria hinterland to the border with the Terra di Lavoro. Walking through the streets of the center after sunset means crossing stone vistas, small squares, and viewpoints over the surrounding landscape, in an atmosphere where tasting intertwines with the discovery of the village's heritage.
The event has the slow, convivial rhythm of summer village evenings. The soft lights, the chatter in the alleys, and the scent of local cuisine create an experience designed as much for wine enthusiasts as for those simply seeking a pleasant evening in an authentic village. It is a way to experience Esperia in a different guiseโthe nocturnal oneโwhen the historic center becomes the absolute protagonist.
Including Incontri diVino in your calendar means discovering a lesser-known corner of Lazio. The Municipality of Esperia, in the province of Frosinone, is a gateway to the Monti Aurunci Natural Park and preserves a fabric of villages and hamlets rich in history. The event becomes an opportunity to combine the food and wine evening with a stay in the area, amidst nature, traditions, and the flavors of Ciociaria.
The 2026 event was held on Saturday, June 20, starting at 7:00 PM, in the historic center of Esperia (province of Frosinone, Lazio). The village alleys hosted an evening route with soft lighting, wine tastings, local gastronomy, and views mixing history and landscape, in a convivial atmosphere designed for residents and visitors.
