History, magic, and folklore of ancient Europe in Valle Camonica
In Capo di Ponte, in Valle Camonica (province of Brescia), In Nomine Matris has been a celebration of the cultural traditions of ancient Europe since 2018. The festival chooses the Pitoti Park as its stage, a theme park that evokes the "pitoti", the figures carved on the valley's rocks: a place where history, myth, and nature naturally blend.
In Nomine Matris is not just an event: it's an experience that envelops visitors in atmospheres of bygone eras. The program intertwines various languages:
The common thread of the festival is the relationship between humanity and the great forces of ancient European culture: history, magic, folklore, and nature. Each edition delves into a specific theme, explored through music, words, and images. The setting of Valle Camonica, with its millennia-old rock heritage, amplifies this search for roots, making In Nomine Matris one of the most original cultural events in the Camonica calendar.
The festival appeals to history and folklore enthusiasts, lovers of medieval and fantasy music, and those seeking an immersive experience outside the usual circuits. Organized by the Primal Soul Association, In Nomine Matris combines entertainment and cultural enrichment in a weekend that transforms Pitoti Park into a village suspended in time.
The 2026 edition of In Nomine Matris will be held on June 6 and 7, 2026, at Pitoti Park in Capo di Ponte. This year's chosen theme is dedicated to Silva Matris, the forest understood as a fundamental archetype in European history and imagination.
The program features concerts by European artists and DJ sets, itinerant shows with folk groups blending medieval and fantasy music, workshops and themed conferences with notable guests, as well as an artisan area inspired by folklore and food stalls with local specialties, mead, and local craft beers.
The detailed lineup of artists and guests will be announced by the organizers on the festival's official channels.
