The feast of the patron saint of Capriate San Gervasio

August 26th is a date that has marked the calendar for generations in Capriate San Gervasio, a Municipality in the Province of Bergamo. It is the day of Saint Alexander of Bergamo, the soldier of the legendary Theban Legion who, according to tradition, refused to renounce the Christian faith and was martyred for it: the same figure who is the patron saint of the Orobic capital and who here, in the Bassa Bergamasca, gives his name to the parish church and the most important feast of the year.

Between procession and community

The day revolves around the Church of Saint Alexander, the spiritual heart of the town.
